My point of contention I didn’t express is that I don’t think positive gender associations for things are inherently bad. The bad thing is them being forced or locked and restricted to only one side being able to do them without being shamed. The associations themselves existing isn’t an issue inherently at all. Thank you for the clarification. The only thing I’d say is that there are two things referred to by gender though. One is the external social conception of gender but the other is the internal sense of gender in the brain, map of the body in the brain etc. we discussed above, and usually the term transgender refers to the latter too. In other words, I suppose this is used because gender is a more friendly term than sex in common nomenclature lol.

I don’t agree that benevolent sexism is a form of sexism against women. It’s not. It’s positive views of and bias toward women leading to special privileges for them. They would never call privileges men have in society “benevolent misandry.” Also there was one post I saw where they gave the game away, something like “we need to remove the benefits of choosing patriarchy for everyone except women.” It’s very clear this is intentional.

It really goes against the whole idea that people have that men and patriarchy have an in group gender exclusive bias. In fact several studies actually found the other way around, women’s ingroup bias is far bigger than men’s. I saw a interesting example where in Dr. House, he always tells wives if men are cheating, but never the other way around and the show makes odd justifications for it. As a sexual abuse victim who was born male, often compared to other people they dated before, etc. and which led to horrible insecurities and pains I still face years later, this stuff bothers me.
