Ask her to drive you somewhere and pick you up. It doesn't matter if you need to be driven anywhere, just see if she'll do it. Ask her to do work moving shit, or painting shit, or cleaning shit up. It doesn't matter if you need help with it or not. See if she'll do it. This is a good test for any good friend... regardless of gender.

Wow. Thank you for finding it!! All the comments were so powerful especially tedeshe. Actually, it was refreshing to read the open and honest discussions opposed to echo chambers and circle jerking. I had a male friend in CS who was struggling pretty hard. I met him in Junior year in our Algorithms course. It was his 3rd time taking it. At wits end, this was going to make or break his path in CS. (Apparently his previous classes had terrible teachers.) We studied a lot that semester; I tried to …

Too bad the OP didn’t post the original post in r/FeMRADebates. I’m also curious what were the responses. My response and personal opinion is that we should empower women but not by pushing down men. Men need empowerment too. Gender roles impact both genders differently. We shouldn’t tell men that they are monsters just like we shouldn’t tell women they should be seen but not heard.

Wow man. You support Nassar and think he’s the victim of a witch hunt? Okay man. If MRA supports protecting the careers of male pedophiles and predators, then you guys can keep your toxic and pretty sexist movement. You are the male version of a MRA SJW.

Yes, and while that ONE irrelevant feminist wrote an article. Wow, Bari Weiss is a NYT editor! This isn't BuzzFeed - which I consider mostly fluff pieces. And you give me a link to SkyNews? Who the fuck watches SkyNews? I had to look them up and Wikipedia states that SkyNews viewing share is 0.68%. Don't claim that my reputable source is "irrelevant" then link a news show that is unheard of. No Offense but come on. She was on Bill Mayher TWICE! She ON TV defended DUE PROCESS and FREE SPEECH. htt…

I posted that I like it as a motivational saying. People don’t always take action when they can. It is a reminder to do so. But you’re right, it is not relevant to the forum. :)

Plus, it's just so unbearably cheesy. And again, not relevant to the forum in any way at all. Oh yah. Totally agree.

Thanks for the info. Do you have to have consent of both partners? Or do some states allow for one to opt out.

What is “no-fault” based divorce? Also, some states take into account both spouses income. I don’t know how many. But I think that’s a great idea.

Yes! Diversity is important. But think free speech protects diversity. You can use your voice to protect and advocate for others. In an institution silences voices, whose to say they won’t silence the people who want to advocate for disenfranchised people! Or silence the people who are disenfranchised. Do you think the Nazis let people freely talk about the holocaust?

"Don’t let a wishbone grow where a backbone should be"? Actually, I think that advice is pretty good. Instead of wishing for change or something, do something about it.

Okay, I'm sorry that my diatribe is so long. have you read "How to Destroy A Man Now (DAMN)"? I have heard about the book on this forum. I haven't read the whole thing but have read the last chapter and content from the website. That book is a satire and not written by a feminist. And by satire, I don't mean a comedy. It is a 21st century A Modest Proposal. to generate outrage for men and expose sexism against men. And congrats to your prior roommate. I LOVE CS and I love my career - even when i…

This has nothing to do with what you quoted. What you quoted was about how ONLY women have the legal right to decide if a child is born or not. I shouldn’t be on Reddit so late at night. Thanks! Actually, you made me think about men’s reproductive rights in a way I never had to before.

It’s okay. I came here to learn and to challenge my own opinion too. If I wanted karma, I would have posted cute cat pictures.... I don't know who's discouraging women from entering STEM but it's not men in STEM. I would tell you my experience. But I have a feeling it would turn into a angry diatribe. Good luck dude.

Holy shit. First. Happy Birthday. I hope you had some water. But if you want my opinion, you sound like the MRA version of this bitch. https://youtu.be/nvYyGTmcP80

Okay. I think that’s a fair statement. Would you consider events focus on exposing girls to STEM as sexist? For example http://www.gencybergirls.camp/

Okay. You posted a lot of links and a LOT of information. It is getting late but I will likely respond with a more thoughtful post. First, in terms of STEM, girls show that they are equally capable of being engineers and scientist. It is until they are older they loose confidence. Do you have a problem with STEM outreach programs to help younger girls to become familiar with STEM, gain more confidence, and see STEM related fields as a potential career? I'm not talking about equal outcome either.…

Everything has to be framed around how it hurts women and often (as seen here) Are you implying that men cannot be victims? I never said women victims. I used people and victims because men can also be victims of assault, domestic abuse, and sexual assault. That's right, there is a name for it but when women don't pay their child support Technically it is 'deadbeat mom' or 'welfare queen'. But I get what you are saying. Not only is the women the only one who has a legal right to decide to bring …

False allocations of domestic violence and sexual assault/rape is a terrible thing, does a disservice to people who are actual victims, and does harm to the person who is being falsely accused. I don't know the statistic of how many false accusations are thrown out because they are crap. But I have seen crappy accusations that were ignored. In respect to that, my only defense to that is the same advice people give to women: be cautious and choose your partner wisely. A decent, stable, and empath…

You're implying that feminism isn't mostly bad. Feminism is a huge spectrum of different ideas. Some of which are bad ideas, some of which are taken to radical levels, and some of which are not. I find there are parallels in MRA where some people who post here are jaded or angry where other men have real issues, concerns, and feel a cultural injustice in parts of the culture. Call me whatever you want, I believe in equal rights for women and providing women with agency and courage to make their …

Do you mind educating me then? As I see it, both sexes have different cards they can play. And regardless of if they can play it, doesn't mean they do. The splitting couple can come to an agreement that works for both of them. And in reference to your ANY relationship, I'm not sure what you mean. start sarcasm Should I be checking my privilege? end sarcasm

When I said relationship, I mean romantic and non-romantic relationships. Also, not all romantic relationships that end turn into toxic custody battles or divorces. And some states take into account the woman’s salary when considering child support.

If financial abortion was legal, when can a man opt out financially and how? If a man said he would support the child and then changed his mind at the 8th month, could he still opt out? Would that mean every woman needs written confession of financial obligation before giving birth?

So I don’t want to disregard the original post. There are vocal men hating angry SJW/feminist who do all that. But I wouldn’t say that most feminists feel this way. I know so many women who advocate for advancement for women and still have very meaningful relationships with men. And support men too. Usually when people have strong relationship with another group - men in this case - it’s easier to understand the problems they face, that they are human, and not some evil monster.

I have heard some people laugh about it - specifically because they think an erection means consent. To be honest, until I heard about men who come out about their assault, I didn’t think it was possible either. This is why it is very important for men and boys to not feel ashamed and come forward. It really exposes ignorance.

Can you provide more evidence that people are being forced to protest?

They think it's better to still "just be safe" and believe them, you wouldn't want a guilty person going free... There is a huge difference between taking claims seriously and believing them. But yes, I agree. I would rather see a guilty person go free than a innocent person lose their freedom.

I know, right? When I searched this book on Reddit, the only subreddit posts were from MenRight related subforms. It’s a book for men. I’m a fan of the Modest Proposal and need to give the author credit for being clever. Men’s have rights that need to be protected too. However, I’m surprised how many posts suggest this is real. Or realistic. And often used to discredit the #metoo movement. I believe that: False accusations are terrible. Due process needs to stay. And there is a difference betwee…

First, I have no clue why this is the result of the #metoo movement. Controlling how a women dress and where they work, is the exact opposite of what feminist should be fighting for.

Well, that guy definitely escalated the situation too. But I would be annoyed if I was stopped for Jwalking on an empty street in the middle of the night too. Do they seriously have nothing better to do?

I just started reading this sub Reddit. I was hoping to read more about Men concerns like holes in men’s health. I see a few posts about that. And a LOT of hateful and angry posts. This subreddit is pretty toxic. I’m not surprised you received toxic comments. Btw, I like your original post about International Women’s Day.

This isn’t a satire to poke fun at men. This is a satire to warn men that society is blindly believing slander and accusation that can hurt their reputation. The language of the last chapter and the website is that these men are innocent, more likely to be victims of slander and violence, and be underrepresented in a society that thinks women have the underhand. This is written to evoke anger for men. This is likely written to advocate men’s rights. This is the 21st century Modest Proposal. Sort…

“I’m sorry, Sam, it doesn’t matter if it’s not true; it’s all over the Internet. It looks bad for our company to be associated with you, and our lawyers say it makes us vulnerable. We have to cut ties with you.” That’s a satire. The male is a victim and portrayed as innocent. It might as well say, “Women, you too can be the BIGGEST asshole on the internet.”

I would bet money that it is a satire.

This reads like a satire - like a Modest Proposal - trying to highlight issues concerning men rights. Well, I hope it is a satire. “Even though men are more likely to be victim of violent crime ....” and the references concerning how people believe and protect women over men...

"I have taken the time to dress myself up in paints and skins in order to simulate sexual arousal but I dont want people to assume that a free invitation to hit on me". Perfectly reasonable and honest, no? Actually, not always. Women sometimes also dress up to compete with each other - you will see this when a group of girls have a "girls night". They may dress up and likely not want attention outside their group. A lot of women also like to dance and socialize. If a man enjoys talking about how…

Does promiscuous behavior, and by extension promiscuous attire, not qualify as an indication of the character of the person? The character of the person is irrelevant when it comes to a crime. It doesn't nullify the crime. For example, if a house is robbed, does it really matter if the doors were locked? An open door isn't legal justification for robbery just like a miniskirt isn't legal justification for being taken advantage of - even if keeping the doors open and dressing provocatively increa…
