This is not an argument about which careers are more "socially important" than others.

right.... so obviously women would be less interested in "growing" in certain careers, including pursuing certain "high status" positions such as CEO, if it wasn't for the obvious disparities between men/women in society. one of the pushes for women to join stem and esp tech, learn to code, etc is because of the MONEY. representation is great, too.

Women are more likely to be single parents... heads of households. Men do not have that same pressure. They may be "supporting" a family but rarely are they doing it alone since they usually have a partner that is taking care of the non-financial duties of the household.

Careers that are nore likely to be dominated by women receive far less pay than careers dominated by men even though these careers are socially important - nursing, teaching, social work etc

Why do you think Scandinavian women arent pressing to become CEOs?

Higher status positions pay more money. Women already are underpaid which is why we're more likely to pursue higher education in an attempt to close the wage gaps and make a half-decent living wage. So yeah, a lot of things would change if a lot of things would change. Women making comparable money to men on every level would probably result in less women feeling the need to pursue higher education and high status positions.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
