I don't speak for all introverted guys (shyness can often be found among introverted guys), but if we go out of our way to speak to or spend time with a particular person then it is for a very good reason. ADDITION: As for the submission behind closed doors, it would depend on the assertiveness level of that introvert. Mine is pretty high, so.... ya' know... ;)

I think this can happen with potential friends, also (from my experience). When someone rejects you for social activities or something, but then see you getting along with other people and having a laugh, I think that person would feel regretful for not accepting a potential friendship.

Clubs aren't for everyone. I never fake having fun because I see no worth in that. You will be more miserable when feeling like "being yourself" isn't good enough. If you don't like that scene, then try to find other ways to meet people. I am working on that myself now. ADDITION: I am 23, so not far off and starting to garner an interest in having a partner. I am also a virgin (although nearly had sex when I was 11 - WTF).
