It might seem pedantic, but I truly believe that language and society share a bond, so things like this shouldn't simply be allowed to continue by mere virtue of being words. Who was the other personPersonally, I always get annoyed whenever children and women are signaled out in statistics like this because I hate that women are constantly grouped with children while the death of men is seen as routine. I can understand specifically pointing out the deaths of children as it is an effective appeal to sympathy.
