Brazilian Jiu Jitsu mate. Not exactly hand to hand combat but one of the best overall self-defence martial arts out there. Krav Maga is also pretty good when it comes to weapons from what I've heard. Never tried that though.

Working out is a good start if you aren't on that boat already. Of all the more alpha-esque Asian guys I know being pretty muscular is a common trait amongst them (sounds superficial but yeah being muscular will help any guy in general). And I know it's cliche and often thrown around often here but being passionate as fuck about something and having hobbies. Also working on your vocal projection. In a way this helps you out because any girl who has these stereotypes amongst Asian men built into …

For me my confidence is a building. If I have my shit together in other areas of my life (grades, work, finances, fitness and hobbies/passions etc.) then the building has strong foundations, but if I slack off, or become unproductive etc and don't take action then the foundations become weaker and aren't maintained etc.

I agree. And for me it became so hard to sit around at home without relapsing so in a way I was forced to go out lots and do shit when I had free time.

20 year old Caucasian Canadian here heading to HK for 2 weeks. Was wondering the same things. Never gamed in any area with a language barrier so should be interesting. Shoot me a pm might be able to meet up at some point depending on when you are there.

I prefer "hang-out" "grab a drink/coffee" sounds more casual and had success with that. Date nots bad at all just a preference thing for me.

Honestly The only real thing is feel the beat. Most important thing is look like your having fun. I probably look fucking dumb when I dance but I have fun and people especially girls love that cause you don't look like your out there to rub your dick on them

Same issue, no problem with matches but I'm still stuck in the funk of setting stuff up to meet. I'm a minimalist texter (only to set up stuff etc.) but on tinder it's difficult because you actually have to chat someone up a bit.

Welcome to Vancouver! It's a great city with a whole bunch to do. /u/Tjodleik pretty much sums the best things up. There are a ton of bars and clubs all over. Gastown has a bunch of good ones, Granville street has more nightclub style places (although the douchebros tend to hang there more). You just gotta figure out the kind of venues you enjoy!

TLDW: Clubs are very rowdy environments which contribute to girls flaking if you only speak to them inside. Key is to overcome the rowdiness of the club, be more memorable to them. Ex. Walk out the front door of the club with them. If the girl is catching the bus home walk her to the bus stop etc.

When I go out with my "alpha" friends who are better than me at certain things like that, I feel that I actually feed off their energy and do better

Went solo for the first time last night. The hard part is getting yourself out the door, and the approach anxiety, but some liquid courage helped me with that. Got to the club, grabbed a drink, danced and had fun. No hook-ups, numbers etc but I had a great time and feel extremely confident with myself now. Would highly recommend it!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
