I agree with this. Especially the continual antagonizing behavior. It seems they always want a woman to keep a smile plastered on her face no matter how crappy he treats her. It's like he is forcing her to enable his crappy behavior and mistreatment of her by always being "agreeable" with a smile. It reminds me of when some men say they hate seeing their woman cry. Ummm why? Because the thought of him putting in some work to help fix the problem is something he can't be bothered with, theredore …

I'm so sorry😞. I felt the same way when I was younger. To date men who were less attractive because they'd treat you better but I have learned that is certainly not the case. I was told this over and over. 'Giving him a chance' seems to be unfinished as it should be 'give him a chance to treat you like crap'.

I hope she finds out, takes him for all he's worth and then kicks him to the curb but that probably won't happen so it is best that he leaves since he clearly doesn't appreciate her efforts that he himself is refusing to match. He'll try to live his new hot boy Summer semi senior citizen edition until the end of time... Or until he strikes out enough and proceeds to stalk his ex-wife that he discarded to take him back. I'm 70% sure I'll get shamed or chastised for this because I'm probably not going to come off as super supportive. This isn't to say that I don't feel bad for her because I do. I feel awful because the guy is trash and she is so young to be dealing with that. And I absolutely think he is at least 8 years her senior and he is absolutely abusing her. The only rates he needs to be concerned about are the averages of all the jobs she does. She would make more than him. Salary.com reports that the "m…

You're supposed to appreciate their honesty and put yourself through the ringer anyway lol. Then when you're upset, they'll say that you knew what was up from the beginning, therefore it's still your fault.

This is late lol but I've been stopped watching. I'm not going to support someone who doesn't have our best interest at heart and this extends beyond just him. I think he tries to use positive morals/endings as a cover-up for the subtle continued conditioning for black women to settle for less. So what if he doesn't make enough money because...love. I would also encourage you to stop if you end up feeling more saddened, upset and any other negative emotions more than positive ones when watching …

I remember reading this a long time ago. It was a time where I was trying to fix the relationship because I thought I was doing something wrong or wasn't doing something enough. My ex tried that physical touch crap too but when he took the test it was quality time. Of course I sprang into action doing all the suggested things at the end of the chapter, in addition to searching the internet for additional ideas, also in addition to asking him flat out what are his favorites ways of spending time …

I agree. I used to think he was so great but his movies aren't actually uplifting no matter how many other positive morals he uses. He still promotes struggle love and ds women settling for less.

Exactly. I was not happy with that movie at all. It is somehow the fault of Taraji's character for not being patient enough. I hated how he tried to come off as the good guy while making her the villian, paying her house off and apologizing for not getting there fast enough. Whatever. The story is the same. He still used her as the come up woman. The same with Temptation as well. Even though she was lighter. Correct if I'm wrong (it's been a while since I seen the movie) but Lance Gross's charac…

It's very annoying. I'm not a runner but I've still been approached and chased when I've had headphones on just walking through the store minding my business. Not only that, also when I'm actually on the phone talking to someone! Serously?! I want to choke these dudes out at the audacity of being inconsiderate and rude! This clown is still at it??? There have been a few videos that I've seen of actual verifiable high earning men stating that Kevin Kitten Heels Scam-uels was absolutely wrong for saying what he did, was very disrespectful, and that the woman KS humiliated was more than deserving of what she asked for! They are not convinced he is a true high value man because his mentality and attitude don't mirror the principles and values of a HVM. Kassie West's husband has a video shutting some scrote down whe…

I also don't know many black women like the stereotypes. I've seen them but don't lnow many personally. My sister isn't like that and my friends and I aren't like that. Awww the ol' "Stop being so sensitive" crap instead of just apologizing and acknowledging that what they said was unfavorable per the recipient. If a woman doesn't think a man's compliment is an actual compliment then that's her right. She doesn't have to accept it if she doesn't want to.

Your step brother is a douche. I'm glad you are no longer around him. And even if you did say anything, would that have magically changed his pReFeReNcEs? I highly doubt it. It always baffles me as to why they feel the need to proclaim their preferences to women who didn't ask for it. Like....so what? Congrats? I just wonder what response they expect? Begging? Crying perhaps? Strong and freaky. I'm sure they think that's definitely the "compliment" she's been waiting for all her life. What did y…

How sad. I would be devastated and I would leave him. I know I'm not the prettiest woman on Earth but I would want my husband to think I was the most beautiful woman in his eyes. He is probably cheating on her anyway with a woman who's more up to his attractiveness level and will trade her in when the kids are of age. What an asshole! People were in the comments saying he should have kept it to himself. Ummm no. I'll always be for people outing themselves! The sooner a woman can find out her tim…

I've heard he is a good guy and I have seen a few of his videos including this one. I think he tends to be a lot more inspirational versus self-esteem obliterating side. Since I also see many men complain that he's pandering to women and is a simp, he must be mostly positive lol. So of course he is because saying anything nice to women or enocuraging them to have standards is simping🙄. I just can't believe some men just want women to absolutely hate themselves.

100%! I'd never date a man for "potential". I tell my niece the same. Don't fall for the potential trap, because that's exactly what it is, a trap! Although there is good potential, bad potential is more rampant. And yes, usually trading in the ride or die is the first thing that happens. All of her hard work is rewarded by not being able to share in the new found success of her man because IMO he feels he's evolved beyond someone like her (who had the audacity to build him up, who was expected …

Exactly. They have a lifetime of aimless and fruitless hobbies that they try to turn into a career. Music is a huge one. Guess which group of men this is specifically. They don't want to face the fact that it's over for them and to move on to something else that's actually productive. I know some of these men... I mean boys still trying to be a rapper after the age 40. He also doesn't want to work full time or even part time because he wants to "Focus on his music". So of course he expects his S…

I agree with Purasangria. I remember doing the same thing with my ex-fiancé. I researched sex positions most pleasurable to men, researching ideas for romantic evenings and tailoring them to what I already knew he liked, reading various books to improve your relationship. I read the Five Love Languages and did everything that was suggested for his language in addition to again researching other ways to scream his language from the mountain tops... to show him how much I cared for him. "I bet he can't f*ck you like I can!" " You can still give me a chance!" I've heard so many excuses that scream they refuse to respect someone else's relationship. It's like seriously? That's nice you still stay friends. Hopefully she will see the light at the end of the tunnel sooner than later. Lol. I was kidding. That's the response I see so much from relationship advice and some other threads on here. It's sickening. Exactly!! They should get ready to take it since most of them probably pressure women for it anyway (if they can even convince a woman to sleep with them), no matter how much they know it's unpleasant for her. Show everyone how to take it like a champ. You want to give it? Then take it as well.

I hope not but this is truly scary. He sounds like a middle-aged E. Rodgers. I cannot believe the things they tell themselves. I definitely practice hypergamy. I do believe men should be the provider. As it's been stated, that doesn't mean I'm going to be financially dependent on him so if things hit the fan I can leave immediately and not be trapped suffering. I've had a taste of 50/50 before and it's absolutely NOT worth it. It was stressful and just like she talked about in the video (as well as Chloe_), I began to despise my ex-fiancée and lose respect for him. He expected me to work full time as well as cook and cl…

I agree. I think it's better for men to give the woman his number so it's not as pushy. Years ago at my first job, I had a guy call my number immediately just to make sure I wasn't giving him a wrong number (I definitely thought about it). This was after he was pushing for it as well. I didn't want to but gave it just so he'd get out of my line. Then he proceeded to get upset that I didn't answer the phone even though I was literally at the register ringing up his relative's clothes🙄. Like reall…

Truly sad. I try not to read stories like this because it will literally ruin my day as I end up being enraged. These will be the same little boys saying brown and dark brown skinned girls who have self esteem issues are no one's fault but theirs, that black boys and men had nothing to do with it...to get some self esteem and stop expecting validation and compliments from other people (even though it's ok for other races of women to receive validation and compliments). Many want a come up/ride or die woman until he gets money, then all of a sudden his pReFeReNcE changes or he's had an epiphany that brown/dark brown skinned women were never his preference and will leave her....that is until unfortunate circumstances hit and the "love of his life" leaves him when his cash dries up for whatever reason. I agree 100%. This also applies to any relationship whether romantic, friendship and even relatives. I've let "friends" and other douchebags go because I was over always being to first to initiate texts and phone calls, got tired of being called only when someone wanted something, and got tired of the excuses (I don't care if everyone always calls you and you don't call anyone). It's just something to attack. Too many always resort to attacking something of physical appearance like it equates to a woman's character in order to take the heat off of their glaring character flaws. I agree with Redbirdflies, don't hint. Also, he wants you to commit to only seeing him BEFORE you meet for the first time??? Dude can kick rocks. That's just like signing a lease on an apartment before you see it and evaluate in person. It might look nice online with pictures but you really don't know what the reality is in person. You made the right choice. If he's truly a great man, he shouldn't have to pressure you for immediate commitment before meeting. His actions and character over a long…

Agreed. Even when I see commercials with women proposing on bended knee I cringe so hard! It just looks bad. Queens don't kneel! Yes! When he complained about things and I said something I was dissatisfied with that was similar, he'd say I was just making it a tit for tat, like he was the only one allowed to have complaints. It is mentally exhausting. After the breakup my stress decreased so much! I'm with you, never again!!

Hmmm, Chloe... I've never seen her videos but I will check that video out on lunch. Yes, he was. I was in my 20s and clearly had the rose tinted glasses on and looked over the other red flags. I am very disappointed in myself for wasting so much time but I am ecstatic we're no longer together. I agree! It's not a term of endearment to me. There are already enough men calling women as a collective that word daily, do we have to also call each other that? Even if it's not meant to be offensive, it' still doesn't have a positive meaning to me and never will.

This. I also attest that many black men feel they can date whoever but black women have to stay loyal all the while bashing us at the same time. It's evident when they were in an uproar over Jodie Turner Smith being married to Joshua Jackson. And yes, the goal is to find a man who isn't trash.
