How to STFU correctly? This really helped me reading this. Further question: What are you supposed to respond if she says something like "It feels like you're disappointed with me" or "I feel really rejected right now" Like she flips it back onto you and tries to make you feel guilty | /r/askMRP | 13/12/24 06:20 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.I have indeed. I don't know what has happened, or when my mindset shifted but at some point I flipped and started caring far too much. Her words started cutting deeper and provoking responses in me. Listening to PFP again I can say I have been in a pussy trance, tolerating her mood swings and childlike behaviour simply because she is a woman. Several times she threw a tantrum, I wouldn't argue and just go to bed and then the next day she would just flip it all on me the next day and tell me I am… | /r/askMRP | 03/12/24 02:34 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.STFU and ignore it...? In hindsight, I have portrayed this situation incorrectly. I really let this get to me. It was literally, you were rude and it made me feel shit. In which case ignoring probably isn't the right response. Rather, a negative assertion..? | /r/askMRP | 29/11/24 02:18 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication. It is a concept I have been familiar with and preached for years, yet I struggle to add the right nows when I am the one in the situation. Does ignoring her not also make her feelings invalid? Fogging becomes the answer I assume? I have had "You're just saying that to make me shut up" or a spiral down the hamster wheel when i have fogged previously, and I won't lie I do not particularly enjoy listening to someone tell me am horrible because I did x and I didn't do x. | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 11:52 PM
| -1 | How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.Dam and you just repeat that no matter what she says? I can imagine how insane that would drive mine. So if your wife sends you a direct message, criticising a something you've done. Or come to you in person and criticises you with something irrational. You literally just do not engage and refuse to talk about it/ | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 11:48 PM |
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.I struggle to practically apply this in real world scenarios, with social consequences. I am probably autistic. Like you can't just leave mid meal etc. I do not think there is a resource out there which can help me comprehend how to handle each individual situation, and it probably sounds incredibly autistic to anyone reading this. | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 08:52 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.Even if she confronts you about how you didn't respond to her behaviour, you just didn't engage? I can't particularly wrap my head around maintaining that? | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 08:35 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.I thought that was sarcasm ha. Yes at heart she did have a point in her response. However, none of which should have prompted such an extreme reaction. That is a good quote. Any attempt at logical confrontation results in more and more hamstering. Is the only way to deal with mood swings to deal with it right there in the moment then? I don't have a clue what you are supposed to say when she has a mood swing then hits you with "It's all your fault" you can't logically explain why it's not your f… | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 08:34 PM
How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.Like what? I usually run to and from work. Deadlift 195kg. Squat 167.5. Bench 97.5 | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 08:29 PM
| -3 | How do you deal with this type of manipulative communication.I was hopped up on caffeine and rather stressed. A susceptible state for me. Next time she has a go at me for something insignificant? Idk she called me rude so I could A&A it and tell her she loves it when I am rude to her in bed... Although, that would probably spiral her into a rant about how much I don't care about her feelings. Which I have been trying to avoid recently, maybe I shouldn't be trying to avoid it. Maybe I should just let her rant then tell her she'll be fine, and let her have … | /r/askMRP | 28/11/24 03:29 PM |
