Okay, maybe I’m not expressing my point clearly. Why is it so hard for people to acknowledge that there are bad actors in both camps? There are men who travel for sex also known as sex tourism and so do women. Some western men with money may use and abuse women, but that doesn’t mean all men do this. I’ve also acknowledged that some Western women engage in sex tourism, using their economic, social, and political power over men in those countries.

I don’t mind downvotes. All I’m trying to state is, there’s a financial power element at play. Moreover, it’s only not men who do it, women too.

Neo-colonial mindset of white men marrying women of color. They think that they can control or be dependent on them. Same reason why western women, often white older women will go to Africa to have a rendez-vous with men of color. Only thing I can add; it’s the power imbalance: from a social, political, and economic standpoint. Not everyone thinks that way, some do indeed fell in love. People need to be cautious that’s all.

Not only misandry. But, also white supremacy. Modern feminism aka white feminism imposes their values on other countries people, claiming to liberate them. I’ve been very skeptic of modern feminism.

First and foremost, focus on yourself and your goals. This is the best advice ever. If you lack a particular skill set, start learning it to become more productive and independent. It begins with small things nothing too crazy. Do you know how to change a tire? Do you know how to cook? Can you fix a basic toilet issue? Any essential skill is important to focus on. Second, start learning the skills you want to gain. Learn a new language if you’re interested. Go play basketball, try tennis, or tak…

I’ve been reflecting a lot on what it means to be a brown (South Asian) man in a todays world, which is still shaped by colonial ideas and global capitalism; and I think both Frantz Fanon and Karl Marx offer lenses that hit uncomfortably close to home. Fanon helped me understand the psychic violence that colonialism inflicted on our fathers and grandfathers and how that trauma trickles down. Even if we weren’t directly colonized ourselves, we inherit the inferiority complex, the double conscious…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
