Don't focus on why others want you to be fit. Be fit because being fit feels good. Keep your motivations simple and focused on self care.

It is my understanding that the single most attractive trait to women is self confidence. Focus on building that.

Just want to say thanks for having this discussion, quite illuminating to see both sides of this.

I’ve always thought about this but I get intimidated. Should I like look up a dance studio and then look up like hip hop dancing or something? Sorry I’m like the whitest dude in existence

In polite conversation? I think not.

What do you people want from me? It’s the way I was raised, that’s all I mean. Pedantic as fuck up in here.

Probably just my Southern roots. Momma said not to talk to women like that. Actually I don’t talk to men like that either. “I’m gonna run to the restroom” is my go-to. I grimace whenever someone says “take a piss”. I don’t need to imagine your urine for you to be excused, friend.

I would quite literally never say the words “take a piss” in front of a woman, but I’m far from an expert.

She didn't take no shit. She could hold her own against the guys instead of expecting a participation award.

I think that compatibility is a much better predictor for female behavior than conforming to dominant social roles. Not every woman likes that, it's just that the women who are most susceptible to being picked up like that. Anyway, confidence is important in my eyes because a lack of confidence undermines your ability to communicate and see each other eye to eye. But it doesn't need to be dominance. Favorite example of this sort of dynamic is in Parks and Rec with Leslie's and Ben's relationship…

It's just an older theory that sort of pigeonholes masculine society into hierarchal roles. We should try and approach our roles as more than dominant and submissive. The very same mindset leads to sexism. Just my opinion though.

Ugh alpha beta hierarchies. Gross.

What I don't get is why you can't just deny it to your employer. "Yeah some asshole from my high-school has a vendetta and is lying." Would they still fire you just for the trouble?

She's calling them not real men so she doesn't really deserve any kindness anymore.

Because safe spaces are the offspring of radical feminism.

Saving this to look at later. It occurs to me that I always assumed when guys do their whole seduction technique they're tricking the women. But it's not like that. It's a dance, like you said. The two people enjoy the interaction and the playfulness. They're both playing the game, no one is being manipulated.

Drunken consent is a slippery slope. In this day and age the one night stand is becoming increasingly risky, because who knows if what you believed to be consent will tomorrow be considered the drunken slurs of that woman you "raped".

The second half of that quote: "...and fun can be a wide variety of things, depending on both you and the girl." Great song, actually.

I know what you're saying, but I'm not a very spontaneously fun type, so I tend to angle everything towards great conversation and intellectualism.

That would depend on certain contexts. As a younger guy I'm often trying to demonstrate to women a higher maturity level and I try to choose the venue in such a way as to yield good conversation so I can break out the intellectual stuff.

The first paragraph was on key with what I'm looking for: information. The rest just made me jealous. Sounded a lot like bragging.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
