3	How do you get over feeling like you're being an ass or intrusive? If you're at a convention, comment on their merch. Like if they're wearing a Mario shirt you can say something like "Hey nice shirt! Mario 64 is one of my favorite games". You can even be a bit more daring and say something like "Why are you wearing a shirt of the second-best Nintendo character?" and try to start a fun debate. The nice thing with conventions is that you're all passionate about the same things, so there is a good chance she'd get excited to talk about something she's into.
