1	Little Big Head I don't disagree with anything you said here. Except that the "feeling of threat" dictates the amygdala size, so the constant tension of low resources stimulates growth. When people feel this tension in our current society, we call them "preppers." I think people will tend monogamous or polygamous by where they fall on this spectrum, though. 1	Little Big Head Well-- polygamy has its own self-limiting factor: Rich old men buy up all the women, young men get frustrated and violent have no skin in the game of society. So that's a harsh trade-off. I suggest that monogamy is a key component of the human race when it tends to be more K-selected by the environment, and the opposite is true when the human race becomes more R-selected by the environment.
