Now, I'm sure there are very different opinions (also here) on Alistair Crowley but in this context I am reminded of one of his best -known phrases: "Do what thou wilt, that shall be the whole law." Very true... and you know what... it is not they themselves who are the problem but what would average Joe think if he got constantly told by the equivalent of Cosmopolitan, the advertising industry and every Fxxxing TV channel that you are infallible and untouchable... The term "affirmative action" per se is already such a perfect example of Orwellian Newspeak. It sounds nice, positive... doesn't it. It encourages something. And who can possibly be against a little encouragement for (young) women entering the the workforce, right? To understand how the cost of labor is affected by certain societal machinations is key to understand what is going on in society at large. I would not be so harsh with the statement of DeputyDelicious. He is merely taking the next step. After Tigger has to come Eeyore before one can formulate ones actions (outcome independent) and transcend. Let me add a thought to this - and I say so as an "old-school" Adam Smith type of capitalist. (He'd be rotating in his grave, btw when confronted with todays consumerist/corporatist "capitalism"...)
