No it's not irrelevant. You have to look at the reputation, not just the statement. Now, being an MRA isn't inherently bad, or even remotely bad, but if you're a person with a history of terrible statements and just generally being an idiot, I'm going to doubt what you say because their reputation doesn't warrant it. Sarah Palin shouldn't be news. It doesn't matter what she thinks, she's just saying it for attention. I can kinda personally guarantee you that no moderate will take Palin seriously…

Honestly my mom started doing the same thing and it gets annoying. I just tell her that no matter how much she talks, she's still going to be incorrect and that continuing to spout such falsehoods only makes her less credible. I mean, I have an awesome dad who will totally jump right in and joke with me about it, but it gets pretty annoying.

Unfortunately for the coffee shop, it is literally illegal for them to not provide a male bathroom. However, because it seems like it's not spelled out in letters on the door, by legal technicality all of them are either unisex or discriminatory.
