8	Correctional officer calls rape when she’s caught having sexual with inmate doing life, and she is promptly arrested after love letters found The logic is that one cannot give (sexual) consent when you’re a prisoner as you’re inherently in a subordinate position. You could have guards abusing their authority, ordering prisoners to have sex with them, whatever. This way, it makes any contact between staff and prisoners ‘rape.’ Of course, it’s very rarely prosecuted in this way, because they know it wouldn’t pass the scrutiny of a reasonable jury.
