I agree. It makes financial sense. It may not be OP’s child, she may not be pregnant. But if she is, and it is, the cost could be life-ruining. If OP can afford it, pay it, consider it an expense for your future well being, and get the fuck out of there forever.

There’s men who ‘believe’ that beating up their wives is the proper way to be a husband. Parents who believe that beating up their kids to blood is the proper way to be a parent. It’s part of their cultural system of beliefs. Should we accept and respect that and say that it’s ok? The answer is no, just as we should not accept and respect child mutilation just because it’s cultural, even if it was done to us. Don’t perpetuate what was done to you.
