I think the real difference is in that in case of consent during sex, it's just you and a partner (rarely more than that). I feel like that's oversimplifying it to the point where the analogy doesn't hold. In terms of drunken sex mistakes or rape, the victim in question isn't "doing" anything...something is being done to them. In the case of drunk driving, they actually have to get behind the wheel, put the key in the ignition, and drive. If the car drove the drunk person, I might agree with you, but that isn't the case.

I believe that a wife != a girlfriend in terms of emotional satisfaction. The level of commitment is not the same and so the relationship dynamic is also not the same. In addition to psychological/emotional benefits, for many people marriage is also heavily involved with faith or religion. I know this isn't the case for everyone (especially on reddit), but in the eyes of a faithful person, having a union with someone you love under God is a special thing.
