While I think there being more than 2 genders is dumb, things like "foxkin" aren't considered genders by anyone (there are male and female foxes obviously); I feel the need to clarify this because while most people just say it as a meme others seem to unironically believe others think this way. Also agender and polygender are opposite things. I feel like such a buzzkill lol but at the same time it's an important distinction if we want to be taken seriously; "know thy enemy" and all that, y'know?

Exactly, my school has single person bathrooms that are gendered for almost no reason (one has a tampon dispenser, otherwise identical), the women's one is almost always empty so I use it whenever the men's one is occupied. Only ever been stopped once, "I'm genderfluid" worked fine. We're all equal!

Exactly, that's always been my biggest issue with this sub. The whole point they always try to make is how widespread the problem is (which is true), but the same two topics always end up in 95% of discussions: custody and rape accusations. There's a lot more to it, guys.

Here's my guess: there's a "Nazi ID" RES tag list that includes everyone who's ever used /r/The_Donald. Sunxnes and I are both on it (which is funny because I haven't been in that sub in months) and often get followed around. Once we get to like -2 everyone else piles on. Sad that people do this with their lives, but whatever.

Of course, and I'm definitely not saying that we shouldn't bother fixing the smaller issues in the system, sorry if it's coming off that way. I'm just saying that there's no way to totally wipe out Implicit biases, so the obvious solution would be to make a system that limits the effects of said biases. Like I said, this would be very difficult, and I'm sure you know how difficult it would be better than I do, but it's the only way to truly fix the system, rather than just patching a few holes.

Obviously you know better than I do if you work in the field, but I feel like those are only partial solutions. The fact that racism and sexism can even exist in a system that's built for the sole purpose of fair punishment is a serious design flaw.

Alright, and white men get harsher punishment that black women. It's stupid to say racism and sexism have gone away, but I don't see how it can be easily solved in that particular case without completely revamping the criminal justice system (which I'm not against, it'll just be difficult).

Damn, this rings way too close to home. My second grade teacher was exactly like this, and I had had enough, so I asked my parents to buy me a dress, and I wore it to school (I didn't have any sense of shame) and said "do I get a chair now?" I got sent to the principal's office and later suspended, because the principal was just like the teacher, but I was the happiest I had been in my life. I'm glad your son did similar, and I hope that he's recovered from it well.
