Personally, I think that anyone who gives their child to the state should pay into the foster care/adoption system.

I often have the privilege of women who approach me not wanting to take no for an answer. Nothing I say deters them. I say no thank you and they persist, my sexuality is questioned and/or they guilt trip me with a self esteem card. I say I have a girlfriend, they tell me they are good at keeping secrets. I have to remove myself from the area, even if I had been perfectly comfortable here beforehand, in order to avoid the situation. People I try to discuss this with always assume that I am trying…

All it did was make me slightly bitter that I don't get to enjoy the full sensation that I was biologically intended to.

Men and women actually attempt suicide at a similar rate, men just tend to use more effective means; guns and jumping as opposed to pills or wrist cutting. It is still an issue, but not in the way the title suggests.

The point of the IFC is to discuss issues and create solutions, it is already a roundtable discussion and all representatives get an opportunity to speak their mind.

I linked to it in this post. I am also in the U.S.

Sometimes you have to go into the heart of opposition to achieve your goals. Frodo didn't destroy the one ring by hanging out in his favorite tavern, talking about how it would be nice it's influence was gone from the world. Shit, did I just refer to Lord of the Rings for a life lesson?

Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can contact them.

Not that I have been made aware of, which if there was I probably would since I am a man. It is through the student government, they have the rules/process clearly posted on the website. It's always the simplest solutions that seem to be right under your nose isn't it? I often bring up the issue with my girlfriend, little bits at a time. She is of the men may have problems but women have it worse mindset; Rather than try to argue against it, I just told her that even if that is the case it is no…

I would love to do that, but it is campus policy that only approved organizations can post on campus.

My one gripe with this is that the last two lines seem to imply that men's rights are achieved through women's rights. I think that while they are at times interdependent, they can also develop separately.

The issue at hand is with a female perpetrator and a faceless, genderless society.

Now you are just getting into semantics. The fact of the matter is that in this case, and others like it, a man was groped by a woman and feels conflicted about reporting it because society says he should be ok with it.

So this should happen? "...^^^Hey ...^^Hey,you ...^Hey ...Hey ...Hey, lady ...Hey, just walking by you, I wanted to make as much noise as possible and get your attention during my approach so that I wouldn't make you worry about whether or not I would rape you."

I don't blame you. I just see complete understanding as the way to an eventual solution.

To my knowledge it is the brain making connections between two stimuli. When she felt sexual pleasure at the same time that she was being abused, the two stimuli slowly became interdependent. If you consistently have sex a certain way, your brain will begin to associate those circumstances with the pleasure that you feel from the sex.

You don't have to shout to put somebody in their place; in fact a calm tone, combined with being overwhelmingly correct and educated about the topic is infinitely more effective than shouting.

Short of an all out revolution, societal change occurs one person at a time. If even one person's eyes get opened up to what is really going on, that is a step in the right direction.
