No, because it would be in our interest to protect unfair privileges if we were. E: I get now you were being sarcastic though. I'm not speaking of any thing so precise. I just think that our enemies are fast evaporating. Even in surprising places. Gay people shouldn't and shouldn't have to feel as afraid as they were just because Trump was elected. We can't become the political puppet of one side, waiting for someone who truly hates us to take advantage of that. Gay rights must be cross party. O…

We aren't privileged oppressors if the criticism is both fair and relatively nonbiased. Besides, we don't have the numbers to oppress anybody. lol

Bigotry against anyone should be met with hostility. Or else intolerance of bigotry falls apart on it's own inherent hypocrisy in society. One can make the argument, that the Bible has lead us to gay rights. The laws that we have come from the Bible, in an extended logic sort of fashion. Jesus never said a thing about gay people, and the rest is suppose to be suspect. E: clarified.

I'm saying we have to change the way we are thinking about this though. Instead of being on the offensive, let us be peacekeepers in a way. If we could foster a general outlook that will call all political sides on their shit in the gay community, that will be a sure path to long term equality. Everybody respects the guy who tells it like it really is.

I think it's probably related. Somebody saw the potential for a future obstacle to their plans. Gay people are one of the most targeted in hate crimes. It could only be amorally political in motive. E: We won't let them make it just straight men, so they'll throw us in the, "OK to be a bigot to" pile as well. Despite that we were getting chemically castrated yesterday historically speaking. For hurting no one. Gay men are killed for existing in half or more of the world. Most feminists are not t…

This is exactly how I feel as a gay guy. Even if it benefits me somehow, this is wrong. We are suppose to be striving for equality. Not to find new people to blame all problems on. E: I'm starting to think most people just have to have something to hate. I guess we'll waffle back and forth a while before we can settle down. But many of us gay men, feel like men, before gay ones. I feel like more than possibly anyone, we can help bridge the divide.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
