I would watch the episode of him giving the eulogy at his mom's funeral multiple times when going through a depressed period.

Granted this is just the opinion of a random dude on the internet but it sounds like you might be self medicating your anxiety with alcohol. I won't say that's inherently dangerous but you might find a more permanent and effective solution speaking to a medical professional about this. In my personal experience my drinking went down significantly when I started therapy and taking medication.

To piggyback on this advice I would advise getting clothes that fit well. You could have nice clothes but if they are ill fitting they could look worse than department store clothing.

One friend really liked her so he would send us videos. So we started sending him videos back. Then it just became a clusterfuck of everyone sending everyone videos. I'm not gonna admit how many times I have heard her songs.

The fact you hit it off very well with a couple number closes is proof as to how far you have come. Just remember sometimes life gets in the way. There are times it was nothing you did wrong but just external factors made meeting again unrealistic. What you learn here is a long term life enhancement. This is just one set of challenges you will overcome.

It really depends on your location as far as what affordable hobbies exist around you. Other than hobbies I would suggest physical activity. This might be odd but I just recently completed a marathon. Running is fairly cheap and after you build up your stamina it helps a lot with mental states. Anytime I get overwhelmed by negative thoughts I go run a few miles and feel 100x better. Also kickboxing is a lot of fun too. Learning to cook amazing meals is great to. Always a good time inviting frien…

It also gets you to focus on creating positive experiences. Does wonders in boosting yourself up out of the slump.

I went skydiving. It was something I always wanted to do but never had the balls or motivation to see through. I suggest picking an experience that you have always wanted to do, then make plans and most importantly follow through with those plans. You need to prove to yourself that not only can you continue on without her but that your life can be improved without her actively in your life. Best of luck. As someone from a similar situation it will get better. Don't give up.

And this is why we have nothing to lose by approaching. Don't worry OP remember this the next time AA picks up and you will be able to overcome it and make the approach.

Proper Kino escalation should bring up her comfort level as well as the attraction level. You'll have to push yourself on this because this is a new technique for you. You will have to use it frequently until you become comfortable with it. You're on the right track starting with light Kino but you just need to make a push at some point and begin being more aggressive. Try and keep the light Kino playful but push yourself to keep progressing. Try and look at it this way. If you get nervous befor…

I suggest calling her to set up the next meeting. But it is mandatory if you want this to get physical you need to lead in with kino escalation. Take her to a place you can accomplish this with relative ease. Expect to end it with at least a K-close. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

You seem to understand the concepts and consequences. Is there any particular reason you freeze up at this point? Feeling uncomfortable, afraid of a negative reaction, etc?

This is the best way to learn though. In the future you become more confident making the right decisions. Good job man. You took your first big step in confidence building.

One thing that helped me a lot was talking to retail workers. Not just women but men too. Through time you learn how to carry a conversation, picking up on what they mention to keep the conversation going, probing for areas of interest/passion, etc. It was great for me because they generally don't get to have decent conversation and at the very least are quite friendly. Eventually you will get comfortable and need to push yourself to talk to random people. But this is a really good way to start …

It seems to be the nature of hooking up so quickly. It's hard to get to know someone. Hence when faced with a text like this it is so hard to decode the message. Is it a dumb joke? Is she serious? Etc. These question arise from not really understanding the person sending the message. In TofuTofu's case it seems like that is making him more interested in her. If only to find out her motivations for sending such a message.

BPD is boarderline personality disorder. I worked in a grouphome where 2 of 4 were diagnosed BPD. But that behavior is extreme. For example when one could not get a ride home from staff and had to take the bus she claimed she was raped on the bus. We took it seriously and had the cops check the tapes on the bus. There was nothing on the tapes and when she was confronted with this her story changed accordingly. People that actually have these mental disorders do not blend in well with society and…

First I say you need to realize that girl you developed feelings for is no longer that same person. If you have any feelings of desire they are for the person she was before going on vacation. She is no longer this same person. I have been there, it sucks balls, but you need to seperate any emotional connection from this girl. No contact and whenever you start thinking about her try and distract yourself. Use whatever is effective; videogames, movies, calling up a friend to bullshit with, etc. T…

I'm not so much looking for a rigid structure. Just more having some good questions that would give me the opportunity to get to know someone. Like I said I shut down on the spot. With a few standby questions I can still move forward until hitting a subject we both connect with. I'm still new at this so this was my solution to move past that shut down I experience. I like your advice to look at it as an opportunity to ask her anything. Any other advice you have would be greatly appreciated.

Well with friends I am fine. It's just people I have never met before I have difficulty having conversation with. I feel like if I had more insightful questions it would be easier to get past small talk.

For myself I just need to learn a structured approach. I have tried doing natural approaches however after a couple lines I literally cannot think of anything to say. I realize idealy one could make the conversation natural and less structured but I need a starting point to achieve that.

Honestly I must admit to taking issue with the fake it til you make it mentality. It implies that you at the start have an absence of confidence. I would argue it is more a lack in the ability to positively and effectively express confidence. This one learns through practice. The desire for confidence is always there; just not always properly expressed.

My theory is we get so hung up on how other people perceive us we loose our ability to be naturally outgoing. Our actions become unnatural and forced. Making genuine connection difficult. Really highlights the importance of inner game.
