Having been in similar shoes I know it takes time and it can be really tough but life does get better. Be true to yourself, don’t be too proud to seek help from friends or a therapist. Their support will help you to stay strong during the dark times. When you’re going through hell keep going!!! You’ve got this!

Yep, that’s what I thought too. I led the horse to the water but it had decided 3 years earlier that it didn’t want to drink…but just didn’t find the “right” time to tell me…

When I realised that after 20 years of marriage she didn’t want to make any effort to work together to improve our relationship.

“I couldn’t save her, but I could save myself.” - very well said!

This is the way. If you’re captured by your past and regularly hanging out with your ex it is really off putting for anyone new that might come along.

Ignore the noise around her and move towards YOUR new life!! It will take time, it will not be easy, but it will be yours to choose and celebrate. Go for it!!!

I told my direct manager and he was incredibly supportive. I didn’t need to take leave but he did have my back if I needed it.

This was exactly my situation. I did a LOT of work on me (psychologist, gym, volunteer work) for a few years to benefit us, only to find out it didn’t matter to her at all. While this realisation left me completely gutted, doing the work taught me great habits and improved my self esteem. My new girlfriend is really appreciating the new and improved me!

More of a “sex hoist” than a swing, are 6 inch bolts going to be enough? 🤔😉🤣

I have just started tracking my day to day expenses in Excel after my divorce. (Data nerd here!!) 🤣 I previously trusted my ex with ALL our finances so was pretty much oblivious to everything. Now I’m watching it daily I can manage it better from my perspective and see where I’m leaking. This has given me a focus and a feeling of control over my life that I didn’t have for a really long time.

Volunteering for something you’re interested in. Keeps you busy and can be a positive contribution to the community you live in.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
