You said move and be active again. May I suggest ballroom dancing? That will get you moving two or three nights a week, it gives you a social outlet, AND if you get halfway decent, you are incredibly in demand with women Or any form of dance class for that matter. Some dance schools offer salsa and line dancing classes as well You might also consider martial arts: jujitsu gets your heart pumping and teaches you valuable skillls. If the decree is a legal binding contract, as in set by a court, I would recommend pursuing it one way or another. It could be a violation of a court order, those are meant to be followed. Judges hate it when people ignore their orders. If you want to be nice you could assist in changing the order to remove the “shackle clause” but it should not be ignored outright.

A judge will not listen to the new BF at all . I was a stepfather and wasn’t allowed in the courtroom for custody hearings, even though I was paying for everything .

An engagement ring given before marriage should be retuned if the ring receiver calls off the engagement. If the giver calls it off, or gives the ring in conjunction with a special day, like Christmas, birthday, valentines, etc, or after marriage, the ring is forfeit.
