Starbucks might be a little bit different but when I'm on a first date at a bar/drinks venue I say something like "ill get the first round". Frame it so that it's expected that you both contribute equally but you're just getting the ball rolling Another game I like to play related to this is see how much of a tab I can run up on her round while keeping the drinks on my round as cheap as possible
