Seems kinda shitty to me to loose all your money if the stock market crashes. This is why you're supposed to have a mix of equities and high quality longterm bonds in your portfolio. Look at the yields of LT treasuries during the 2007-8 GFC, they all went down. Then when the stock market bottoms out, you use the price appreciation in your bonds to re-balance your overall portfolio.
