If I'm a baby, the limit would be to the point that it would impede function I guess. I understand your side, that you didn't make the choice and it carried implications for the rest of your life. But I trust my parents to make choices for me. I would like to be circumcised on the condition that it happens to me as a baby. All the power to someone if they don't wish to circumcise their child but the option should exist. The practice is not as barbaric as some would make it out to be.

Being 100% honest, mostly for aesthetics. Partly because of cleanliness but like others have said it's not hard to stay clean - however my dick will never smell like head cheese when I'm camping, and I like that. And partly because as a teen a friend required one and I would hate to have to get it done later in life. Do before I can remember it, and let my parents decide because they have the right to make my choices for me before I am of age.

I was under the impression that it exposed the glans therefore increasing how often it was stimulated thus decreasing sensitivity. I'm not saying your arguments are invalid. They are perfectly valid to convince someone not to circumcise their child. Though not convincing enough that the practice should be banned altogether. Also, I'm Canadian so cost isn't an issue. I shouldn't be in other parts of the world but that's a different debate.

Is a parent not wholly responsible for their child up to the age of 18? That would include making choices concerning the child's wellbeing before they are deemed mentally competent. Soon after birth seems to me to be the best time to perform a circumcision (because of no memory) - I assume it is medically the best time because that is common practice. The well meaning wishes of the parent should be respected. They don't need consent as they are responsible for the boy. Re: eddit - nobody is goin…

I agree you could, but I've only known one person that has done that and it was a medical necessity. I wouldn't undergo the procedure later in life as the cost benefit just doesn't make it worth it. Do it before I have the ability to form memories though and I'm virtually unaware it happened. I understand that some would say it has the potential to cause psychological trauma but I don't think those claims are warranted. I'm glad I'm cut, my friends that aren't wish they had been. Should I become…

I'm glad I'm cut. I think it should be a choice of the parents.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
