i swear when i clicked this i knew i will read " You don't need motivation, you need discipline ", but take it from someone who was in your shoes, discipline is close to impossible when you are depressed. get treat first.

Some... Not helpful advise. I thought I would give my 2 cent. Anxiety isn't something to beat. Sometimes the stress reaction you have (which you call anxiety) is helpful and needed. What you need to do is 1) control your reaction to stop it from hurting you and 2) Learn to act despite the hurt. You can do that by meditating and being mindful in your day to day interactions. But the main advise is that you have to do the thing. The more you do it, the better you are at not letting anxiety stops y…

A lot of good advise here on the sub, but no one said the most crucial one, which made all the difference in my life: focus only on ONE thing at a time. when you are in a hole, you will want to claw your way out and take on everything, and no wonder, you have been in pain for a long time and you must be eager to "take you revenge on the world". Don't. Stop yourself, allow yourself to be sloppy in everything in your life by choice EXCEPT 1 thing. Focus all energy on that. I suggest you fix yo…

You're seeking it wrong I didn't mention how I seek it lol. I don't know hence i am asking. My question doesn't pertain to women, and yes, I read the sidebar multiple times... Having only pump and dump friends is one of the biggest mistakes you can do in your life. Social proof is real. Real friends are real and important. They offer immense help in life, not to mention "pump and dump" friends dont have the rapport to actually help you. I lived, and a lot of what I am is thanks to friends who op…

I never mentioned validation. seeking the company of others can be for a myriad of reasons other than validation
/r/TheRedPill22/11/19 12:53 PM

I think what you are saying is unrealistic. we are social animals, we thrive in the pack. I can (and I am) very content with my own company, but that doesn't mean I or other people don't crave a social life, or companionship,etc... One of the things often preached in this sub (or was) was joining the military for the sense of fraternity, yet this advise basically communicate that one should only use people to further his gain, which is not practical...

Do not look to others for a sense of belonging or companionship. Instead, look to others as a means to improve your quality of life. easier said than done. if i seek belonging or companionship, where do i seek it?

I would like to chime in, as I think my experience is almost identical to yours. From a middle eastern country, during my military drafting, I used to be extra polite with everyone (as I am generally with people), but it rubbed other people very very wrong. I used to use "please" a lot, and someone literally told me never to tell him please, and not in a friendly let's be equals way, but in a malicious, angry way. As if I disrespected him by saying please. To people from low socio economic stand…

Hi. I may not have anything new to add, but when i was 26 i was suicidal, and i posted on this very subreddit asking for help. I am not even close to where my goals are now, but i am infinitely better. it DOES get better. there is always hope.

I completely understand your point, and I agree that the rules are different, but I fail to see how that answers my point, it would be great if you help me understand it. Do you mean that by putting in the effort, a man is justified to get laid as much as he wants? But what about women who also put in the effort? If a woman is picky about men and puts in the effort, but had a lot of sexual partners, that makes her undesirable automatically? Or men just want almost virgins, despite their sexual p…

I meant that it does take a lot of effort to be a player or a slut "which is" wrong" depending on the crowd" but how does it matter? If someone put in a lot of effort to be a male slut, doesn't make him any less of a slut.
/r/askTRP27/06/19 03:11 PM

But what difference does it makes? They are both "wrong", doesn't matter if you worked hard or not to attain this "wrong"...

You are literally me. I just couldn't put it in words like this. I sadly have no new advice, otherwise I would've done it. My current goal tho, and what I suggest you so is to embrace the suck. Know that you will stay for 2~3 hours in torture doing "work" and be ok with it. Also, it helps doing something u really love afterwards, kinda to reward yourself.

Third world shit country here, sadly :D but you are right. however, that actually increase my self loathing. I literally am devouring Jordan Peterson's library. He is one of the best people i heard talking about self actualization in years. but my problem isn't the what or why, it's the how. also a fan of jocko, and he did help with much of my progress. I will keep on the grind. Thank you.

Sadly i didn't and won't. Different place/culture. Things like this don't exist (and if they do, insanely expensive and very inefficient. i DID try). I will rely on the second best thing, me. Thank you man.

I am "good" at many things, but not good enough to make money from any of them. Thats a huge problem for me. I can't call myself "the guy who does X". There is no X. biggest regret in my life. I am working towards attaining it tho. and i give you the same advice. whatever degree, get insanely good at something. find your X, and money will find you. Deactivating facebook. Thank you.

I did listen to the Jocko podcast. amazing stuff. it made me realize how important is discipline. you are right. my biggest dragon to slay is consistency. a small bit of slack DID and DOES snowball. I will fight again and again but this shit is hard. embracing the suck is especially challenging when there is so much suck to embrace. I will download habit RPG (habitica) and try the gamifying advice. hopefully it will pan out. Thank you.

sadly, the place i am in have no such thing. I am doing my best to change jobs tho. the problem with my current job is that it's not bad actually. the pay is bad, but not THAT bad. it's easy. it's comfortable. many would kill to have it. it's made me average. it IS average. people here have lost their hunger. they became content. it has rotten my soul. Let this be a lesson to all of you. once a job makes you comfortable, content to be average...LEAVE. even if you will starve. the damage you will…

The reason for this post is the fact that suicide DOES make sense to me currently, but i know that it helps nothing. and i will not be committing it anytime soon. The checklists is actually a pretty good advice. I had tons of those for goals/where i wanted to go in life, but never for the immediate anxiety inducing tasks. I am doing my best to be disciplined, but it's harder than i thought. Cleaning my house is a newfound habit of mine, i could do it better but i AM doing it. it really does help…

I salute your grit, I don't know if i can stand losing everything multiple times. If you would be kind enough to share those stories of loss and win, at least for the rest of us to read, that would be great. I completely agree on how easy it is to acquire knowledge, but then again it's never been harder to actually focus, a battle i personally win some, lose some.

sadly i am not from from the US, no such thing as suicide hotline exist here. I know it's depression playing tricks on me, but knowing and internalizing are two very different things. I will keep on working, and hopefully something better will present itself. I might take you up on that offer to talk, but not for venting. advice would be really nice, since i have no one to ask for it. Thank you.

Thank you for your words. They were thoroughly needed. After letting myself go for a year, i gained a very large amount of weight, to the point that any social interaction is painful, leading me to be more alone than i have ever been. Even the act of buying clothes and seeing the sizes i normally wear being too tight is hellish for me. But you are right. I am too focused on what i should LOOK like to be a man, as opposed to what i should BE like to be a man. looks like i need to put equal focus …

For a guy to make his woman his world, is not a beta. He’s a lost man. He gets up and goes to bed thinking about his partner. He may work in between, and do some other bullshit, but his goal is his partner. well, if you ARE that guy...what should you do?

a great post, and you voiced what i was personally thinking so eloquently, and being involved to some extent, i can see that TRP community wasn't exactly...greatly informed about the subject... However, i have to ask now what i asked before, what does the immigration crisis has to do with the red pill? or rather, why the obvious anti immigrants stance from a subreddit mainly concerned about sexual strategy?

Thanks. I am already thinking about that, but now, i got a 9 to 5 regular job (Engineering, my degree), and plan to keep if for at least a year... The entire culture of entrepreneurship (and taking risks in general) is new to me, but i have been cultivating it for some time now. This is it. The number one reason i want to change this mindset is to destroy the voice that tells me "getting more money is very hard, large sums of money are downright impossible". I want to have the abundance mentality to actually GO FOR making more money. Making money as some sort of super thing that only a select few can get, makes one very selective on spending, and hardly take any risks to attain more...

You are one hundred percent right. and i know i am lucky not to be spending like an idiot (like most people around me do) nor having any debt... sadly, i am just starting life, and from a disadvantage due to not having a lot of the essentials (dear mother, being poor with finances)... I do save a lot, but to get essential things to live, like clothes and furniture for my apartment, so any bulk of money i save gets instantly spent on the essentials. so sadly, i can't afford the luxury of spending…

well, you are right, but i don't think that psychotherapy is whats needed...i thought that the very definition of the red pill is to completely change your mindset, and i have been gradually doing that with good results...
