Ive always viewed this place as a place to focus on the rights of men specifically, theres no reason you cant also fight for the rights of women and frankly we should do as much as we can for both.

These people are stuck in the idea that men are the only ones capable of oppression and therefore anything bad happening to men is oppression by men. Furthermore they believe that oppressio cannot exist on a case by case basis (as in men can be oppressed in certain areas of the law and society without being oprressed in others) and must be part of a systemic culture of oppression. You could rephrase this and it would be obvious how wrong it is. Societal views used to hold that a man couldnt rape his wife (that she automatically gave consent all the time) and that being gay was a crime, that doesnt mean it was somehow right.

I must admit every woman ive spoken to, aside from one, strongly rejects feminism. Its only anecdotal but the sentiment i got was that feminism is no longer valid as it is based around the idea of a patriachy which people are struggling to believe still exists in the real world.
