I'm guessing due to cost.

16 year olds are all sick of their parents. It's a developmental state. Even if you were still married he would probably still have failed to do his work because of teen rebellion. Your ex leaves him alone more so he's staying there for now. Kids get sick of going house to house between divorced parents. I agree with the consequences but because of your ex not being on the same page as you there may be little that you can do. Frustrating situation man!

Just take them out to dinner or make your own party on another day. Problem solved. My kid graduated and had three get togethers/parties.

I think making out counts as a full affair not "emotional affair". Sorry about your situation man.

Out of curiosity if the best you could attract was a 5/10 when you were younger why do you think you can attract higher now as a divorcee?

How can you live like that???

The real truth here is that having kids with disabilities stresses the marriage & it statistically ends in divorce. It's a bad situation all around. The cheating part is complete BS though. On one hand you should be there for the kids. On the other hand this is a difficult hand to be dealt. I don't know if this dysfunctional marriage is part of the kids mental health issues or what the deal is. Good luck.

Ask that she tell you why there is no sex. Tell her to visit the doctor. It may be she needs HRT but is afraid to ask her doctor.

She's going to find out anyways at that age.

It sounds like the YT lady is just using the platform to rant on her own personal situation. I recommend sticking to help content from exes of cheaters.

This goes against human nature. People innately believe they're on the right path and do no wrong. Even if the cheating relationship blows up she'll just justify it as, "I learned a lot of lessons & at least I moved on from my ex husband". Don't tie your life to BS dreams and expectations that will never happen. Give yourself closure,"she was a cheater and and I don't value her opinions anymore." Then move on. Good luck.

That's terrible! Just a thought but maybe on some level you've been taught your value is your financial worth. That's not true. Sometimes a chapter ends in life unexpectedly. You have more ahead. Just keep going! If your wife can't support you at your low she is kind of useless anyways. Maybe it's best you divorce her at a lower financial point for division of assets. Help your brother if you can but help yourself first. Good luck man!

You're in a state of half awareness. Good for you for recognizing the signs. However, don't fall for the trap of thinking you will change her. By 38 personalities are set. If you want someone who will work find someone who is attached to a career that is sustainable. No one can do physical labor long term. Also what about finding someone who likes regular sex.

It could be she was wrapped up in the chaos of getting the kids off to school, tired out, or assumed you would eat something else before she got back. Or maybe your relationship is in the pits none of us can say. That said try adopting a more clear form of communication so you can avoid having your feeling hurt in the future. "Can you please pick me up some eggs on the way home?" I learned the hard way- my spouse doesn't do hints. Good luck!

Don't respond to "why?" Tell her you're only communicating regarding the kids going forward. Meet in a public place for transfer. Don't have your parents meet with her. Hope your situation improves.

Lesson: There is no changing people. Think about if you are ok with them as is because that will be the reality. Her health issues are bad but no longer your responsibility. We all have ups & downs in our health. Especially as we age. Best to move on from this now before you're a caretaker to a cheater.

Not cheating is the absolute bare minimum in a relationship. She treated you badly. You need to think about why your self esteem is so low you accepted this & what you'll do so it doesn't happen again. Good luck.

Three possibilities: Divorce Streer clear of her during PMS. She needs medicine for extreme PMS & you need to steer clear of her during PMS. Good luck.

I would just leave it as is. This is a best case. She's not bad mouthing you to the kids. Her messages are very benign "don't forget your homework". She is keeping communication to an absolute minimum which allows you to both move on. Your kids are both near 18 so you can both be done. This is ideal compared to what most divorcees have to deal with. Of course her friends & family will take her side. That's a no brainer. Nothing to say or do there. The relationship is dead & done. You have virtua…

This is a divorced men forum so it's self selecting for those who couldn't save the marriage. We attended couples therapy & repaired our marriage decades ago. The key is for both people to be willing to improve & change for the good of the relationship. Good luck.

We need more info on what you're trying to accomplish with the taxes long term. Are you trying to preserve wealth for your kids? If so, you may be able to create a divorce agreement to incorporate that. Otherwise, I would say post-nup is your main option. I know a HNW couple that did this. However, imo they did it out of negligence and wanting to ignore their issues rather than clear cut strategy. Consider that may be why couples are doing this. When people have multiple residences this situatio…

A woman who is successful in her career field and doesn't want unqualified and unsuccessful men in the same field telling her how to do her job isn't a "feminist". It's kind of out there that you think like that. Successful woman run the gamet politically. Good luck.

You're missing the point. They have very low success in the field hence they make 1%. Very few men will be talking to other men above them like that. It's akin to the intern telling Director they'll teach them a thing or two.

Pretty much. If you don't want to clean the house marry a successful woman and hire a maid.

Most people continue being whoever they were when you met them. A successful woman doctor or lawyer is most likely to continue. People who quit for life are outliers.

You're lying to yourself there. I make good money & buy my husband whatever he wants. All of my female friends with money contribute 50% or more.

I am a woman with a high income. I read these posts all the time. My experience in life and reading statistics is that men actually want an attractive woman who makes less than them or SAHM so they can feel powerful & in control. The most successful women I know have faced cheating, divorce, and alimony payments. Where as the most financially successful men are allowed to cheat on the regular without consequence. I have multiple streams of income. In one field I work with all men. They routinely…

She sounds like a scammer who used you for a house. It reminds me of those Nigerian love scammers. You need to read up on scams and find a regular woman to date in the future. Is she on the title to the house? If you bought with funds you never comingled you may be able to reclaim it 100%. I would fight to keep it since it's your money. Consult a lawyer. Good luck.

Try to stay in contact with him. If your Mom says no just contact him digitally until you're 18. He's worried about the same thing I'm sure. Sorry you're going through this.

I doubt you have only $84k in expenses. That means you spend $7k/month. Open up your bank account and look at the actual living expenses. Common items people spend on that could easily explain this: Clothes for 2 small kids: $3k/yr Groceries $6k Diapers: $3k Eating out: $10k Clothes, makeup, hair: $5k Travel/Vacation: $10k Gas: $5k Insurance(car, life, etc): $6k Retirement plan contributions: $15k Don't panic until you learn a lot more. Review all financial records. Research how to budget. Good …

Correct. Try and meet with your wife & agree to divorce together pro se. If that doesn't work try agreeing to an arbitrator. Don't waste both of your money on lawyers.

That isn't how any of this works. Custody is based on laws and norms not her opinions on what you should have. Court divides your finances up. It doesn't make value judgements on if you were too controlling on finances. This is a lot of fear mongering.

The kids are likely upset because you moved away and didn't attend weekend visitations. That stings. Good luck.

Woman engineer here. I always wonder why male engineers commonly choose to marry unattractive women who are financially & intellectually below them. Women who are successful in their own right aren't attracted to men with these types of attitudes. Though love but it's the truth. Also, you can't retire off of 10 years income unless you live extremely cheap & work in FAANG.
