Yeah, I think that's the name of one of them.

No, I automatically avoid it. It's programmed in. When you are a small child and eye contact could set off a beating from a drunk abusive father, you teach yourself it's wrong. So it's not just average uncomfortable.

Oh, your post has changed my entire demeanor and fabric of my being, something ten years of therapy has only scratched the surface on. I know you're trying to be helpful, but it's anything but. There's a difference between a normal person with a case of nerves and a fundamentally damaged person. I mentioned this step in case anyone is in the same boat as I am. This one doesn't apply as much. The other five may. Good news though, the girl I was thinking about... she liked a post I was tagged in f…

Nope. Not in general. Ever seen that American Harry Potter movie with that main character dude who never looks anyone in the eye? Yeah. Excellent actor if he's not like that naturally.

I always love reading about eye contact. Makes me feel fundamentally broken as a human being.

Maybe ignore a lot of the advice here and just get to know them as a person. Enjoy the journey.

I believe OP means that any relationship is based on priorities. Those friends that fade away? It's because other things in their or your (likely both) lives have higher priority. And that's the simple part. Basically the first 'too busy' you should put the ball in the other person's court, platonic or romantic intentions. "Alright, just was looking to spend some time with you, how about you contact me when you get time?" and then you just assume you'll never hear back from them, but it's totall…

Ironic t-shirts with cat hair on them represent me pretty damn well. You may think it's shit, but it is unapologetically me.

Disagree. The correct answer is to say "Hey." and just stare without blinking. Or you could go a more classic route and do the George McFly thing, pull out a notebook and read off it "You are my density." My favorite move is to pull out a can of spaghetti and a can opener and say "I really should have prepared better. One second, just gotta open this up."

I always do the yawn move... Pretend to yawn and see if they do it shortly afterwards. Checking your watch and other things work the same way. Basically if they are paying attention to you, you can figure it out this way. Of course it's subconscious so it could be wrong, but it's a first step.

Whatever behavior makes him seem subservient. Could have been learned as an attempt to placate an abusive father or emotionally manipulative mother, etc.

I don't know how to break them down farther than that.
/r/seduction30/08/18 03:38 AM

I'd be careful with the term fault. Has a negative context. OP probably picked up this sort of behavior as a coping or survival mechanism. Not that you are wrong but when trying to help people with self destructive behavior folks tend to get defensive, thus a more gentle approach is recommended. I'm not a therapist, just a person who started off being super defensive and once I noticed it in myself started seeing it a lot out in the world.

If it's every group you get into there's one common denominator. It's possible that you are doing things to bring it on yourself subconsciously. It's also possible you have shit taste in friends. However, how's your self esteem? I already have guessed based on what you wrote, but I think a few of us would like your take on it.

Privilege isn't getting something extra. It's getting the benefit of the doubt in a similar situation as someone else who has no privilege. This infographic just shows that the author doesn't understand what they are talking about. And I expect plenty of responses here that are willfully ignorant as well.

Waiting until the last day of class? Red flag, man. You're putting this girl into a 'last chance/ultimatum' situation. Most people, when put into a spot like that default to 'no'. A lot of people would be upset about it, even if they don't know exactly why at the time. You may not have thought about it in this way before, but take a second and take it in... are you feeling defensive? Be mindful. Calm down and read it again. So this is bad for two reasons. One time I was so amused by the situation, I just let it happen. Let me explain. I have an acquaintance aka drinking buddy that is completely socially awkward and is mostly oblivious. For the sake of ease, let's call him Buddy. We're sitting at the bar one day and there's an empty place between the two of us. Him towards the door, myself towards the back. Girl sits down between us. This being a German Bier Hall, the only thing on tap are German Beers. She orders something a little more exotic...…

I've gone from bad to fairly alright. I think a lot of it stems from the fact that I've been doing interviews at work for the past six years or so. However, if you make things like an interview, you're going to seem boring or like you're trying to check things off a list... Listening is more important than talking. Genuinely want to know more about the other person. However, if they ask you a question, answer it. Be alright with silence. This is hard, but can be overcome. It's alright to just be…

One thing I've noticed that works really well is if you're driving or the passenger and kino is cool... scratch/rub the top of her neck in the back right where the bottom of her hair is. Feels good on your end too. Drives them crazy... or if a girl has done that to you, it will drive you crazy.

Your username belies your point. Moving beyond that however... The issue isn't that people checked in on things, it's that they quickly escalated into violence. If you've been seeing someone for three years, there is an implicit permission for physical contact in that level of intimacy. What should have happened is a concerned third party should say "Hey. Just let her go." and then OP should have been able to be dignified in his exit of both the bar and the relationship.

Nice post. Smuck? Like you make jellies and jams? You're a smucker? Perhaps you meant schmuck?

Wow... reading the comments... what a cunt. "I'm right!" and accusing people of being pedophiles just because they don't agree with her ideas and actions. She's part of the problem. I think that since it's not PC to say that women should be pregnant/barefoot/in the kitchen that we have to somehow make an excuse for them to act that way, so we go to 'men are pedophiles'. Quite sad.

I like to do that "To The Left" Beyonce song at karaoke... bit different when it's from a guys perspective.

Every time I come to read something on this subreddit, I wonder if this is English. Is there a glossary somewhere that I can look up terms? It sure as hell wasn't in the FAQ or the "read this and this" the last two times I looked.

Yeah, I have problems with eye contact. Feels weird to me. I'll work on it.

Yeah, instead of trying to make it sound cool it should say "Fill this out when you turn 18 or be completely fucked." in black and white... save the taxpayers some money, eh?

Cool, just subscribed and this is the post that is going to get me to read more about it. In the end I think we all want to be social creatures. Rock on.

This is also the reason you don't see a lot of men at public pools.

Your wife sounds like a total piece of crap... so who is supposed to get custody, the state? Sure, maybe you're not a captain of industry, but I would assume that at least the fact that you're not abusive or neglectful would get you custody... then again IANAL.
