Seriously, its like the misogynist Olympics. Which will win? The original implication that it is somehow a woman's job and sole responsibility to entice her partner to "stick around?" Or the asinine assertion that woman are aware that a partner is unsupportive or abusive but purely of their own free will choose to have a child with that person, and therefore it's their fault? Fucking disgusting.

If the dude doesn't want the mistake and the girl goes through with it, why is he liable for 18 years when he's chosen a legal option? Because bodily autonomy. We generally have a hierarchy of rights and bodily autonomy is at the top. We recognize that not having the financial support of a second person would be a coercive influence on that decision, so we remove that possibility so that people can maximize their autonomy over their bodies.
