essential gay rights such as surrogacy I don't think this is a "gay right". I think surrogacy is something to be incredibly wary of. Just as organ sales are banned and you can only give a kidney without monetary incentive we should hold surrogacy to a similar standard. Family member wants to be your surrogate? Completely OK! Shopping around for a surrogate that you are paying to carry your child? Skeeves me out. I think the context behind this is that the people you are talking about are outrigh…

But the fact that you would rather have all guilty go free so no innocent are in prison is a little disturbing. I also don't see how you will be arbitrate who is so obviously guilty and who is less guilty, as it seems like our justice system already tries to do that "beyond a reasonable doubt" is required for guilt. I'm not sure exactly what your hopes are but good luck any how. It's relevant because of what I pointed out before (you know, about how rape jokes, as rape is something that happens …

The point is is that it shouldn't be a question. It's not even hard for me to find it, it's literally a specific statistic in rape statistics in wikipedia. But I'm not going to because you literally have made no effort to find. You come in here and try to debate me (don't go saying that you weren't, "Can you prove this claim? Because I doubt you can") and then just start shitting everywhere. Also, I'm not claiming that I'm being oppressed, so you can stop strawmanning. I'm making fun of you for …

(cite that) false rape accusations happen less than actual rapes Oh sorry, my mistake. I was taking you seriously for a bit. Statements like this, or the fact that this even needs to be asked, is why SRS hates you. Some of you are just so ignorant that it hurts to be around and even listen to half of your uninformed babble. Seriously, I'm not going to even respond as that is probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard in the 10,000 MRAs that have rushed to debate me after posting something mild…

You said you "But yes I would trade however many it takes to make sure every innocent goes free" That seems to imply that you are willing to let everyone go free to make sure the innocent go free. Murder still doesn't apply as you can still know how many people are affected by murder as, well, there's a body. You know that there can't be that many murderers or otherwise there'd be a lot more bodies.

That's different. A lot of the time MRA directly opposes Feminism even though the problems Feminism faces are greater. Feminism never opposes woman's problems in Africa, so it's an incorrect comparison to draw.

There's a specific article that I'm looking for that specifically links rape jokes to a study where admitted rapists thought that all men were rapists and didn't know it was abnormal at least partially due to rape jokes. This isn't the exact article but it gives a good idea of what I'm talking about. This effortpost also goes through a lot of the problems with rape as well. Rape happens behind the scenes, where as any person can see that high speed car chases don't happen often so it is not a so…

Society doesn't warp men into thinking rape is OK (well, most of us), it's that rape jokes make rapists think that rape is just something everybody does. Rapists interpret rape jokes, and a lot of other things in society (objectification), to justify what they do. There is so much more to this issue than just the legal part, and as such you are taking a very black and white stance. This has to do with society, with how we handle victims (blaming the victim) and yes, the legal part as well. If yo…

There have been over 350 murder trials in the United States where the body has not been found. That is for about 100 years quickly scrolling through the list. I'm sorry that you need to nitpick me on small points but there is such a scale of magnitude between 350 over about 100 years and 10,000 convictions every year. That's where the comparison dries up. There are approximately 85,000 rapes per year of which about 3% are considered false. Now I'm going to step back a bit and try to put things i…

That's not the way I'm thinking at all. For one, murder is a poor comparison for a few reasons but namely because false murder accusations aren't really a thing as it requires a body as opposed to a person. Yeah, that's a shitty thing to happen to the dad, but that seems to be failing of the justice system that could have just as easily happened for any crime. But how many times do we actually see this happen? A lot of the examples that you might see are women lying and then the man getting acqu…

I guess if you think that's a reasonable law not many laws against women will seem unreasonable, I'm done.

Nobody is getting wrongfully convicted of rape. The false rape accusations affect how society views somebody. The justice system itself rarely will convict a false rape. I'm not OK with it, I just accept it. Yeah it sucks but there aren't a whole lot of ways to fix it without making other things worse. Yes it would be terrifying to be convicted of a crime you didn't commit. It would also be pretty terrifying to be raped. Rape happens more, so we should make it at least slightly easier to report …

womens rights are made up or internal I point out the fact that pay is inequal. The difference doesn't seem to be big. The average is about 15%, that's pretty big when we're talking about a salary of 50,000. But hey, let's just dismiss that because I'm wrong. That's why you're being downvoted is because in the face of fact, you are covering your ears and screaming "NO THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS!!!" women subjecting themselves to being weak wat

When has a school expelled a student based merely on accusation? Also, a law like that would never get passed as it looks too much like your siding with the rapist. It's a nice idea, and maybe at some point in the future it might happen, but it doesn't seem likely. If that's truly what you want to campaign for then you could certainly do worse. I was also talking about how you said "men were automatically treated like rapists" which when you said that I thought you meant all men. So I brought up…

How much does a women earn per dollar a man makes in the same job? How many women have been president since the "matriarchy"? How many women are now CEOs due to the "matriarchy"? You are the person that SRS makes fun of when they make fun of men's rights advocates, stop talking out of your ass and read a book.

No, I'm saying one is worse and you can't really make one better without making the other one worse. Pitch me your idea to lower false rape accusations with a law (not social change) that would not discourage true rape reports. People's lives are ruined by rape and to be honest, that happens a lot more so that's why I'm saying we should focus on that.

Shit happens. But society needs to stop automatically objectifying women. I'm not sure about you, but I've seen a lot more women objectified then men treated automatically like rapists.

False rape happens, but I guess the question is is it worse than actual rape? It's just one of those things that it's hard to make false rape accusations harder without making actual rape accusations harder as well (at least, you can't easily make only one of them easier / harder). False rapes happen, yeah, but not at the same rate that actual rapes do.

It's OK. I've been apart of so many different groups (christianity, atheism, men's rights, SRS, democrat, republican, libertarian) that I sometimes come off as being from one, but after awhile they all just kinda suck equally in different ways so I take my leave. I mean, if you look at politics you always make fun of those in power. You make fun of the president, not the dude that lost the election 2 weeks ago. I agree that /r/shitredditsays can be a bit touchy (to be fair they are trying to sol…

SRS is interested in gender equality from the women's side but the way they see it MR is just butting in and saying "oh yeah, me too". When there is true equality both sexes will be equal, but they view /r/mensrights as a bunch of cry babies. The men's rights campaign is important as we need to remember that men have issues too but /r/mensrights gives the idea a bad name.

What do I link to exactly? I'm no member of SRS and neither am I a member of MR. As far as I'm concerned your groups are both just too damn angry for me to want to participate. Also, the joke there has to do with privilege. Men are considered to have privilege so it's about using the joke to attack the status quo (i.e. inequality) instead of trying to keep it. I also don't see any subreddit "joke" /r/beatingmen that is anywhere as close to as popular as /r/beatingwomen.

Sorry if that's how I came across, but that's not what I meant. I was referring specifically to /r/mensrights and not men's rights in general. This subreddit in particular (due to the circlejerky nature of reddit) quickly can go from pro-men's rights to anti-women's rights.

To be clear, SRS themselves actually agree with MR in the sense they are for equality. As seen here which is one of the actual effort posts from SRSDiscussion. The problem with /r/mensrights is that they refuse to realize that women's problems are far worse then men's and this eventually leads to misogyny. Men do have problems, no one really is saying they don't, but they are just so vocal you would think that their problems are substantially greater than a woman's.
