3	Men should work less to close gender paygap Of course equal-pay for the same job is completely rational and would be completely wrong if that was not the case. This is only rational if performance is identical. However, the big-picture problem with equality going forward is that automation is likely to reduce the number of people who do any given job, because the larger the cohort of people doing a job, the bigger the incentive to automate it.
