I used online dating.

If she fails at dating, not long. If she’s successful at it, she never will.

Dating definitely got much easier as I got older.

My ex-wife(20 years) would buy me gifts and it was just weird to me. I never got her anything.

You guys should watch the Talk Tuah podcast together.

lol well, it’s happened to me twice now in 6 years. I thought the last one would kill me. I’m pretty bitter if I think about it, but as time goes on I care less and less.

You’ll get over it. This isn’t meant to be insensitive. It’s just the truth. Eventually you won’t even care and, in fact, it’s good that you clearly see she’s full of shit.

Yeah, that’s what I hear. The best used to be Hinge. Now apparently it’s FB.

You’re “wrong” because you’re one of those people on the internet who just wants to add something only slightly relevant in order to play devils advocate. There was no need whatsoever for you to write what you wrote; zero. This person is sitting here devastated and that’s your response?

Yeah, my ex makes more than double what she did when she met me so the amount of money she spends on self care has massively increased. She also turned into one of those women who, I swear, only consumes 1,000 calories a day eating almost nothing. She has a naturally massive butt so the weight loss has only made her look way better since that’s the absolute last place she’s going to lose weight. But in all honesty, it doesn’t really matter. This lady is literally psycho so her looks don’t even m…

Yes, but with me there weren’t even any issues to work through. We moved in together and she decided she hated my kids and I. I was the exact same person she spent 7 days a week with before we moved in together. She was sleeping at my house 3-5 days a week. We move in together and within weeks it’s like, boom, completely different person.

A woman in that situation can easily find a man if they’re pretty enough. A guy cannot… Hard no.

I know right? I can’t even imagine seeing my ex with another guy on the regular.

A good divorce lawyer ignores bullshit drama and focuses on the law and facts that are pertinent to it. A bad divorce lawyer allows you to focus in on drama that really has nothing to do with the case and act like almost a therapist.

My ex filed to have my daughters name changed to her new husbands. I essentially didn’t have to say anything because she had to prove why that should be allowed. Obviously this is a totally different situation but it was incredible showing up, saying nothing, and watching her take L after L, even though her lawyer was trying to portray me as some sort of abusive father. So yeah, I sat there and took it, my lawyer and I said very little. The judge politely and professionally told my ex to gfto 🤣🇺…

I was married 20 years. She dumped me for another dude. I tried to manage the situation but she was pretty insistent on blowing things to hell while trying to maintain her victim status. She tried booting my oldest out, talking about washing her hands of her. This was only about a month after I moved out. I talked her out of it. She booted her 6 months later. It was all games. I finally agreed to let my daughter go back a few months later but when you escalate shit to that level, you set a prece…

I have found the best advice is to talk as little as possible. Just answer questions directly and honestly and don’t answer questions that weren’t even asked or go on about things that weren’t even asked about or tell stories or offer other insights.
/r/Divorce_Men19/06/24 08:36 PM

I’m sorry. The best advice is for you to do the things that will make you proud of yourself, whatever that is for you. If you can do that, whatever she does won’t even matter.

Welp, she’s a woman so she’ll be an expert on hiding all the loose skin but I assure you, guys aren’t going to like what they find under there. Obviously that’s not an issue for you because you love her, but it will be an issue.
/r/Divorce_Men15/06/24 08:53 PM

You’re going to want to talk and think about your issues and that’s fine, but I would try to avoid thinking about your issues at all as much as possible. It doesn’t make you feel better and it won’t solve anything. Try to think about positive things as much as possible.

I’d be pissed if I was him. Even I. 2024, most women would be very happy with the marriage he just described.

So does she work? Sounds like she had a great thing going? Why the divorce?
/r/Divorce_Men10/06/24 05:45 PM

Yep, she done goofed. The only thing taking her back would accomplish is giving her the space to plan a better exit strategy for the next time.

“she tells me that she hooked up with 4 different guys” So, the answer to your question is “NO”. Before I ever got to that part of your story, I knew she tried another guy/guys and it didn’t workout. So, if you got back together, it could very well last the rest of your lives, but probably not. But here’s the problem, she will be sitting there waiting for someone she likes better. She’ll be smarter about it the next time around. She’ll be like, ok, instead of leaving him and looking for someone …

I probably spent $50k on a custody battle, but it took 2 years. She basically lost on everything she tried doing but that’s my ex. She fights everyone. I can’t really hate. It’s like hating the sun for being hot 🤣

Yeah, the last 6 years of my life has been a living nightmare and the “support” I’ve gotten from my family is actually hilarious. As a guy, you’re just expected to overcome everything that life tosses at you with a smile in your face.

I’m still coming to grips with the fact that most women, even in 2024 with alleged equality, basically see men as their cash cow/handy man and all they have to do is show up with a vagina. It’s honestly pretty hard to accept.

My ex gf was hitting me and screaming at me for sometimes up to 8 hours straight because she couldn’t stand my youngest daughter. She never did anything to her but it caused massive amounts of stress and tension that directly led to my daughter living with her mother 100% of the time. Now I have no girlfriend and also no daughter and the biggest regret is my own weakness. So you can probably guess what I’m going to say. Stand up for your daughter. You yourself stated she treated your daughter li…

If she wanted to be married to you, she would stop bullshitting and take total responsibility. She can’t blame you. She can’t make excuses. She has to stop lying about what she did. You could be 50% of the problem in your relationship, but she’s 100% to blame for cheating. She absolutely cannot try to deflect or lie. If she’s unwilling to do that, marriage over.

For me personally, I have a serious issue with tension, specifically my neck because of medical issue called EOE. For some reason, the mushrooms relax everything and it’s the only time all the clogs around my jaw and neck unclog. It’s also extremely relaxing.

Same, born and bred in SoCal. My entire family is there. I’m totally isolated where I’m at but dude, I have zero desire to be in California. It’s so overcrowded, expensive, and just WEIRD.

I know it sucks, but the worst thing you can do is think about it. You have to think about anything but that.

I don’t use them but it’s definitely safer than dating. There are so many women who get pumped and dumped out there and I highly doubt they’re getting checked in between.

That’s not a reasonable excuse. I have a policy of refusing to lose any time. The next time you exchange, it should be 1pm. And then the following week it goes back to 7pm. This can’t be negotiable. Both mother and daughter need to understand this or else it will get worse.

Welp, young kids are actually easier. You just shouldn’t move 400 miles away. That’s actually pretty odd behavior. Teenagers are a different story. I would just straight up never move in with someone ever if your kids are over 13. Teens are hard enough to manage while you’re married or not trying to move some new person in.

I’m in a similar situation. I guess you have to acknowledge reality. Life is going to go on regardless of what you do. So, now what?

My ex gf kept her ex husband’s name because his dad was rich and somewhat famous. She would never admit that but it’s 100% the case. That woman thinks she’s better than everyone and can do anything she wants and I guarantee she’s dedicated her entire life to marrying a dude with at least 50 mill now.

Yeah, this is the answer for a lot of us, I’m guessing.

You need to figure out how to have your daughter exactly half the time. I had my kids 50/50. I was a total Nazi about it. I wouldn’t give her 5 extra minutes and in hindsight, that was 10000% the correct choice. I’ve made mistakes but that absolutely is NOT one of them. I’m not saying you can’t be flexible. Sometimes days need to be changed, but none of this should be up to her. It seems like you’ve given her power she shouldn’t have to begin with. And like I said, if she needs an extra day, fin…

Why advise him to ask for a 15% premium?
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/24 11:58 PM

Yes because, if she doesn’t sell, there are no closing costs and he gets more money. Logical is to take the buyout.
/r/Divorce_Men04/05/24 11:54 PM

You lost me at wanting to get 100k more than your share of the equity. Dude, you can’t even ASK for that. You’ll look like a douche. Also, if the house is sold, you’re paying 6% commission off the top so allowing her to stay gets you an additional free 3%. Let’s say the house is 600k. Your share of commission is $18,000. Let’s say equity is $300,000. Your half is $150,000 if she stays. If she sells its $132,000…obvious choice is to let her stay.

I don’t get it. If you’re getting a divorce and she’s living with her sister, that means you’re not in a relationship, therefore it’s not cheating. As for using that info in court, ask your lawyer. If you don’t have one, get one.

When I was dating, I went on about 50 first dates in little over a year. Exactly ONE of them took responsibility for their failed marriage. I’d say 2 more were fair about it. Maybe 5 didn’t want to talk about it. The rest claimed to be victims.
