For starters, the 40% reproduction rate is a running total for all of human history and prehistory, while the 15% non-fathering rate is only applicable to our modern world with modern medicine and modern farming. In a nutshell its simply far more difficult to die early today that it would be for a randomly selected generation in human history, rendering your 45% cuckolding rate inaccurate.

So, I decided to click the first link provided. I was expecting the usual scientific journal layout, great big paper with a few paragraphs summarizing the important points right at the beginning. When the page loads the first thing I see in great big bold letters: "10 REASONS WHY MEN CHEAT". The site may be psychology, but it's not a journal, just another news blog.

That one actually brings up an interesting point: would it be better to live a sub-par life without a basic need but still live it? Or is it better to just skip the hole thing entirely? How important is each parent, could one parent be more important that the other? To nature, To society? Thats the one thing reproductive issues have for them, a lot to do with what we believe human nature to be just under the surface.
