1) It must not be that serious if she's giving her number out and texting you. Clearly she's into you. But ... 2) ... if you wind up in a relationship with her, don't be surprised if she does it to you, too.

I think it's good to be self-aware. You have a conscience for a reason--it's worth listening to. As long as you're up-front with your intentions from the get-go, you're allowing the woman to make a choice for herself. If she wants a casual fuck, then fine. But if you're leading them on, making them think you're interested in them on a deep, personal level, and then ghosting them after fucking, that's not cool, and you're right to feel guilty. What I wouldn't do is just assume that women "get it"…

Amazing work, man. I'm the same way--if she's into you, that's just a bonus. The real victory comes from taking your fear of rejection and kicking it right in the fucking teeth.

Oh, it's really not that big a deal. It messed with me for a few weeks (this was back in 2005), but I barely knew her, after all. I don't hold myself responsible for her dying ... but it did give me a reason to always be mindful that there's more going on than I realize. When she rejected me, all my attention was focused inward. What was going through my head was "I'm worthless / I'm undesirable / I'm not attractive or interesting enough". I just felt sorry for myself. Had I been thinking bigger…

Actually, it ended horribly. It's a long story, but she got uncomfortable because I was a Christian (yes, I know, not the first thing you think of when you see my user ID & pictures) ... we had a conversation on the phone before we went out and she asked what I did for a living. At the time, I was producing a video for a church in Portland. When she asked about my faith and I told her I was a believer, her whole attitude changed. I don't know what it was--if she had a bad experience with church …

Obviously screens are a fact of living in the 21st century, but you can try and restrict your non-essential screen time. I personally wouldn't encourage you to try medication until you've tried other methods to stay focused. And if you do try medication, make sure you're doing it with the full knowledge and encouragement of your primary doctor. Personally, I'm pretty wary of drugs that mess with what's going on in my brain. Some people swear by psychiatric drugs and credit them with saving their…

Take it from someone who's spent my entire adult life being scared shitless of rejection--say hi to him. Don't think so much about the end-game of getting a date. Just be friendly and ask him about his classes, or something. I haven't done it very often, but I'll tell you this--the most memorable successes I've had in life, whether they were professional, relational, or otherwise, came when I was willing to put myself out there and risk rejection. Even if he DOES reject you--the fact that you fa…

I can sort of understand that. The reason I asked about porn is because porn (and social media, and the internet in general) have really conditioned us to think constant novelty and stimulation are normal. ADD wasn't nearly as big a problem before the internet. Are you the type of person who's looking at his phone every two minutes? You might try detoxing from your screens for a little bit. Meditation and general mindfulness exercises would probably help you a lot. I'd also do my best to cut out…

This may seem like an off-topic question, but how often do you view porn and/or masturbate?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
