So this is actually the standard I am kind of going by now. Wanna know what the men of PPD think (or women too I guess idc) I gave my V to a guy at near 24, very quickly because I just kind of felt like I needed to “get with the times” and because at first he seemed very promising. Like I had never been so comfortable with a man right off the bat, and it felt like we had known each other for years. It didn’t take long to realize he was not what I wanted and we were just not at all compatible. I …

My best friend in middle school invited me to her b-day party in high school, which is after we had a terrible falling out. The best way to describe her personality was histrionic. She loved to flaunt, loved to get sexual attention. Used to designate me as the watch dog as her boyfriend felt her up in detention or at her house. Anyhow, I agreed to go to her party and even helped set it up. I think there was this unspoken agreement that we wanted to show each other up because there's no way we ju…

Can confirm. Ex-bf was like this. Ended with an R/O. He turned out to be one of the top commenters on Reddit’s infamous “ask a rapist thread”. NEET. Narcissist. Moderately racist. Had me take nasal squirts of oxytocin early on in the relationship to ensure “pair bonding”. Pretended to be some random person that liked my hobby after 7 years of casually keeping tabs on me after we met on a 4-Chan Skype chat thread, even thought we only talked like 1 or 2 times. Said he had HIV like right after I g…

I don’t think that’s at all what he meant by that. He meant a good long term prospect as in someone the girl sees to be a reliable partner for a LTR... not that she is imagining his looks potential and hoping he’ll reach it.

I think it stems from a difference in expectations. Men are expected to grow up to be Superman while women are mostly expected to be pretty. It’s why subreddits like MUA and skincareaddiction are more full of women, because the advice for women is centered around improving oneself physically. If a woman wants to succeed at other things in life she doesn’t need “female specific” advice. Honestly, what exactly are you looking for?

Mostly I’m just being dramatic, but still, you better have some good ass reason for not wanting to pursue a higher education. I want to be with someone that is a bottomless pit of (some combination of) knowledge and curiosity. That said, I’m not going to be all that impressed with a degree in sociology, unless you’re at an Ivy league.

-Gender equality to me: Equality of opportunity -It's just about ensuring freedom and choice to all, not about liking the choices people make or what people do with their freedom. -My definition is directly inline with my desires. I don't want people telling me what to do, nor do I want to tell others what to do. -No I don't find it hypocritical I guess the most hypocritical thing about me in this instance is that I like for women to have freedom and choice but then I become irritated when they …

Also I'd wager most red-pill types are, at the very least, socially conservative.

I don't think it is conservatism, per se, but religiosity and traditional values (which of course go hand in hand with conservatism in the US). That said, the non-conservative red pill types I know still display a level of social-conservatism at a personal level. What makes them left leaning is usually the economical side of things. The particular example I have in mind, I recall on various occasions using words like "vile" and "disgusting" to describe things not related to taste or scent.

I like when guys show restraint in aggressive situations. I think that’s pretty “alpha”. Like if some asshole is starting shit and a man just does what he needs to neutralize the threat and nothing more. It shows he has discipline, that he doesn’t take joy in “punishing” others, and he doesn’t indulge himself in public self-displays.

1.Yes 2.If a man seems to make a show out of girls checking them out, the quality of their past lovers, etc etc I find it unattractive. My ex used to do this, but I never tried to rub it in his face when people checked me out or hit on me etc. One of the many reasons I broke up with him. So you realize you're literally only seeing the negatives, then, right? Most people don't "vent" about when life is going good. So you've got a real biased view of these things. What more likely is unhappy people find unhappy people and they remain unhappy together. Ever hear the phrase misery loves company?

This. A lot of people treat relationships as if they are a "destination" rather than a journey. They get married and that is the end of the road, in their eyes. "They made it". Like...no, marriage should be the agreement to do the damn thing until your dying days.

I have determined that men that have determined that women with more than 5 are to be avoided, are to be avoided. If a man is interested in a woman's n count, I'm interested in what's "too much" for them. If I'd known my ex shared your views before I gave him my V, I'd have saved myself a lot of trouble.

To men, good looks in a woman is like an asset. Having a good looking female increases their own status. They do value status in a partner, but only with regard to how it increases their own. The status of a man is important to a woman because it says a lot about their values and it's information that can help them determine whether or not they will be a good partner.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/05/19 08:50 PM
17

Actually it allows them to be even more selective. It's not like women really had much of a choice in who they dated/married/slept with in the past. Either they're over powered or traded off. Now, they can assess all aspects of a man and their own life to determine that they only produce offspring when (1) they are truly ready and (2) they have found a partner they deem worthy of fathering a child.

But couldn't you also say that a woman who sleeps with a man early on is low-value and doesn't respect herself or value her time? You gotta have that yin and yang balance of respect for one's self and respect for others.

It’s not illogical. It’s self-preservation. No one wants to be pumped and dumped by someone they like. I’d have no problem telling a guy I want to take it slow because I’m scared of being hurt, because a guy that wouldn’t respect that is not someone I’d want to be with long term.

15 out of 3.5 billion is really not that bad. Women could have a new sexual partner everyday of the god damn week. And the more attractive she is the more opportunity she’ll have to be with others. It’s fucking hard to find someone that you want to be with for the long run, and who also happens to want to be with you. Someone you can grow with and experience life. I’m a selective girl. It’s kind of sad that how meaningful sex is for you is more dependent on her history with other men, than your history with her. Maybe I’m weird but I’d rather make a guy I like wait because I want him to take me seriously and get to know me. I think wanting a virgin can be a religious thing, but also it can also serve as a source of pride and security. Pride because you “won”. She had her pick of the bunch, and she waited for you. Security because, for one, it makes you feel special, but also because she has no one to compare you to. And being a virgin past 20 indicates that she doesn’t take sex as something that is casual. Makes it less likely for her to cheat. And it implies she values being loyal, which also makes it more likely …

I doubt that a video of a man singing and dancing to a Carly Rae Jepsen song would become viral. is this your idea of a feminine thing? Can you define some more "feminine interests"? Nah. I care about what lies at someones core. Who they are when no one is around, when no one's looking. It shows their true character, their true values, their integrity. The only time it'd be bad to let someone see you bare like that is if everything you present yourself as is as much apart of you as the clothes that you wear. Now you know how I feel trying to understand what the fuck The Red Pill is mad about. Probably mad that hypergamy means they are probably not most women top choice But you're trying to ignore how big of an influence family is on a person's life. No, I'm not ignoring that at all. But a families influence is a result of both the mother and the fathers decision making.

Seriously is she trying to blame good fathers for hypergamy? I don't even understand the logic of it because to come to her conclusion you have to ignore the fact that a woman chose this man to father her children... or would she argue that the woman that chose this man was also fathered by a good man? but then, a woman had to have chosen that man as well, no?

When in comes to n-count, how does a woman that sleeps with other women (as well as other men) factor in? Would you weigh a women sexual partners differently based on the gender of their partner? For example, what would you think of a girl that only sleeps with women during her single periods and has incurred an n-count of, say, 20. 5 with men from relationships of varying lengths and 15 with women as either 1NS's or FWB vs a girl who has slept with 20 men, but still only 5 were from relationshi…

Confidence is good quality... that said, I think the more important reason as to why a man needs confidence when it comes to dating is because of the fact that men are the ones that typically do the pursuing. For some people, dancing is just a huge part of their life, or even a cultural thing. They grow up dancing like this with friends, loved ones, strangers, and it doesn't necessarily mean anything. To some extent, you do need to be aware of who you are dating and take these things into consideration. You're not just dating a person, but you are dating a lifestyle and if it can't merge with your own, you need to recognize that.

$18,000 is decent if she's just cooking, cleaning, and providing you with sex. Proper child care services require at least an additional $18,000, and that's not really including the child's expenses. You're just dead wrong. Study's show that attractive people, in general, have an easier time stepping up in their career. I've read this is especially true with tall men. As far as using looks for fame, well I think that seems like something that'd be quite obvious, but it actually is a disadvantage for women. Women are more often subject to the requirement of "be attractive" to become famous, whereas men don't have to be anywhere near as good looking on average.

There's a reason why it's men who ask for marriage. If you're asking permission for something, are you really the one that decides when it happens? It's kind of a flawed logic, no? It's like if a child asks their mother to have ice cream for dinner and then saying the child is somehow the one in charge of whats for dinner. It's really another example of how the gate keeper of commitment is determined on a case by case basis. In some cases marriage only results after the woman has pressured him t…

Yes. All of them had been dating or dated at some point, and in most cases they had been sleeping together. More to your point, men have some hold on gatekeeping commitment once she’s had his child. It’s much harder to find a new partner as a single mother and a lot of women will bend over and backwards to avoid that reality, but as you say, this is now less so.

he’s gotten everything he needs out of her Why do you think so lowly of men that their brains function as nothing more than “man want sex”? Perhaps you have the mindset of someone that is highly independent and requires less social interaction, bonding, and companionship than most humans are evolutionarily wired to crave. However, spending time on the internet, especially reddit, has taught me just how lonely and attention deprived a lot men are.

I've found that the best guys are often overlooked, fortunately for me, (but sadly for them). Usually because they are too short, too skinny, not "traditionally" attractive, not white, shy etc. If a woman can learn to place less emphasis on physical attributes, she'll be able to see that there are a ton of men that are kind, loyal, intelligent, and that have interesting hobbies...that's where my energy is focused. I don't play the "games" I read about the stuff on these forums, nor do I by into …

Once the man has had sex with the woman, he is the gatekeeper of commitment Simply repeating the claim doesn't provide any basis for it. the population of men whom women are willing to sleep with This is more the key here, as it implies men who are highly desirable will have the power when it comes to commitment, but I don't think it's fair to apply this rule to the most desirable men with regards to all women. I think you'll find when you apply it to the most desirable men and the most desirabl…

Women for the most part dont have sex just for sex sake, not on the level that guys do anyway. I would argue that most men don't have the ability to just have sex for sex's sake, and as a consequence, there are probably more women that have casual sex than men (or at least a similar amount). But even so, you are probably correct in that most woman probably don't just have sex for sex's sake. then it's his turn to decide if he wants to stick around I really don't believe most men have this luxury…

You got something better do? If having children meant raising a child in a marriage with a man that I could not only call my best friend, but could trust to fight through think and thin with me and stay loyal etc etc, but that is not at all a guarantee and it seems like the odds of finding something like that are becoming less and less. Not worth it. Also I just don't want my own kids. I'd adopt, and probably will, but no popping em out myself. A decline in educated women having children. Perhap…

On another note, I believe it is attitudes like this that are contributing to huge decline in women having children and getting married. I haven't wanted children for a while now, but lately I've been reflecting and came up with another reason for why that is: it's too fucking risky. It's not attractive to be a single mother. Women know it, men know it. So once a man has gotten a woman pregnant, sometimes their whole attitude changes, as they believe they've got their girl on lock. Then the woma…

It's just a projection. Either they assume all men want what they want most, or they want some sort of justification for their desires —— a sense of righteousness, if you will.

Nah. You've got it backwards. If your partnership with someone is based in physical desire, then you're headed for a bad time. Studies show that the happier and more successful relationships come from compassionate relationships, rather than passionate relationships. In other words, relationships that start off passionate tend to report drastically less satisfaction later on, whereas couples that depend on compassion show a steady trend of increasing satisfaction with time. Once you really get t…

I don't think women have become "more masculine". I think that for most of human civilization, women were overly feminized and now that pressure is being lifted. Also, all of the things you listed as being "masculine" are really not inherently masculine. Especially tattoos. Women tend to be more artistic and expressive, so I think it seems obvious they would have more tattoos.

I've noticed that men who are more passionate about their careers and the education they have received will find a woman with a similar career or education attractive. For example, I've noticed most of the STEM guys see it as a plus. As far as how much income you receive as a result of your career, I don't think men care as much. The only real "social status" men care about among women is where they rank on the desirability scale among men and that is largely dependent on physical attributes.

For me, love is lying down on a seldom traveled road in the dead of night, sympathizing with the moon to the tune of the wind through the trees, water across stone, crickets and birds humming the song of creation, and the breath out of my own lungs. It’s a feeling of appreciation for something that will never know it, and the sense of belonging brought about by something that could never intend it. What about technology and its contribution to the decline in the necessity for socialization? We can get all our food delivered to home, we have video games & streaming for entertainment, porn to get off to, social media platforms for socialization. We can get everything we "need" without ever really leaving the home. The less often you go out and meet people, the less likely you are to date and have sex. A man with power has the ability to provide and protect her better than other men. A woman with power might be attractive to men with power, but I'd imagine a lot of men would feel demeaned being with a woman more powerful than himself.

It doesn't quite feel like that in the moment, but I suppose that is what it boils down to. Keep in mind I don't speak for most women, however. bc usually when I do speak to other women about sex it sounds foreign to me.

I mean don't get me wrong, we do want sex too, but at least for me personally, I prefer to reserve it for someone that I deem "special". It's like for men, wanting sex comes as a result of being horny, and can be satisfied by many woman, but for women, wanting sex is more dependent on wanting a specific man. But I'm sure there is some variance, yada yada.

I think that female sexuality manifests it’s self in a vastly different way. This is just conjecture based on what I’ve noticed with women, including myself, is that there is a big aspect of “you can look, but you can’t touch”. Women like to be admired by a lot of men, but they don’t necessarily want to have sex with a lot of men. I think that’s why this notion of “rape culture”, especially with regard to parties and colleges has become so prominent. When I was younger and went to parties and st…

I think men and women have the same issue. The culture of discontent... never being happy with what you have and, further more, chasing this idealized dream that can never really be obtained. In addition to this we have been spoiled with so many opportunities of instant gratification that, instead of putting mutual effort and time into building something with someone, we quit the moment things get rough or become impatient because they don’t go our way quickly enough.

My observations from the real world have been quite contrary, tbh. A lot of conversations on "sexual strategy" or what not a very much had in terms of black and white and seems to focus on the nature of relationships from a very specific perspective in an attempt to simplify everything. It doesn't often allude to the fact that people and relationships are endlessly complex, and that generalizations don't necessarily apply to individuals.

No two people are ever going to be the perfect amount of agreeable. I've had some friends that are a bit more uptight or simply have very dominant personalities and I don't mind complying sometimes or letting them make more decisions, as they have stronger preferences. I think that hierarchies are inevitable and unavoidable and will exist among any relationship, in some form or another. I don't know that I agree equality is something that really even exists, beyond maybe a mindset of tending not…

best friends and egalitarian are code for female-led or led-by-female-values Not sure why you'd think that. Most of my best friends growing up there's still been some sort of dynamic where one is more dominant / more of the leader. Same with my parents, my dad is clearly the leader, but they're still best friends. Personally, I don't think I could submit to someone who wasn't my best friend.

Maybe I should rephrase, "manipulating a situation to ones own advantage at the expense, or at least with out concern for the other". Most people want control to some extent, and it's not inherently a bad thing. Problems only occur when that desire for control isn't put into check, and some guys want it so badly it seeps out into the relationship and can make it quite toxic.

We are just animals, sure, but we are not "scientific" thinkers. We are magical thinkers. Scientific thought takes practice and devotion. Math did not come easy to us, but things like art and creativity do for many more people. It's decent to compare humans to other animals for the basics, but when you look at the reality of what humans have done compared to other animals we really are on another level and at some point it down plays how complex we are as a species.

It could help to keep women from contributing to these lonely men and their decline into misogyny and hatred and perhaps help with the whole feminists-hating-men thing and blaming them for everything. Perhaps it could lead to more viable solutions as to how we can really, truly help these men. I also think men are the ones that could use a bit more empathy and compassion when it comes to women, but that's a whole other discussion I'm not so sure I feel like having atm.
