Straw man. Nobody is arguing to obsess about getting married. There is a noticeable shift in mindset when a woman decides "I've had my fun, now it's time to settle down". The argument being made is instead of making that shift at 31, make it at 24. That's when a woman has the most leverage in the sexual marketplace and when she is best positioned to be the best possible long term partner.

You can literally sum up half your list by saying "Be attractive". be skinny, but can't have muscles and look masculine, have big boobs, have a fat ass, have long hair, not wear makeup and magically be pretty without makeup, have a hot body but magically not wear anything revealing, be hot without knowing they are hot (?), and shave daily, even in winter are all either 1) phrases that are another way to say be attractive 2) ways to become more physically attractive 3) reasons a woman may be cons…

Having an opinion on everything is a bad thing. If you genuinely think that you are smart enough, well read enough, and have enough personal experience to have an opinion on every single issue, at best you're obnoxious, at worst you're a narcissist. Being self-aware enough to know what you don't know, now that is the type of intelligence that is attractive.

I don't think the entire concept of hypocrisy applies to the sexual marketplace in the way most people try to apply it. Men and women aren't the same and they don't want the same thing in a partner. If every person had to possess all the qualities they want in a partner, everybody would have to be gay. As far as relationships between men and women go I think the hypocrisy you find is that people who have standards get upset that they don't meet somebody else's standards and so shame them for hav…

The whole debacle around alleged sexual assaults on campus has been such an incredible source of pessimism for me for two reasons in particular. First, in action, the entire process is outrageously sexist against both men and women. On the side of men, it's obvious. The whole apparatus relies on the assumption that men are little better than monsters who prey upon women at the slightest provocation. Obvious bullshit. On the other hand though, there's the idea that it's the responsibility of men …

Masculinity, at it's very core, is the acceptance of responsibility, particularly for your own life. Lying to yourself prevents you from finding solutions to the problems in your life mostly because it prevents you from actually being able to identify the problems in your life. It's weak, passive, and childish. Look at the original comment. Instead of taking responsibility for his relationship which would lead to it either ending or improving, he's being passive and sleeping around on the side. …

Now you're moving the goal posts. I never once said anything about lying to her, I said he shouldn't lie to himself. What he does or doesn't say to her is irrelevant. This is an anonymous internet forum and Rule #2 of this particular sub is no moralizing. Why, here of all places, did he feel the need to obfuscate that he was cheating? Because it's easier for him to do that than be honest with himself. It's weak as fuck.

Same, I attended a "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" seminar for staff at a flagship university and it sort of hit me in the middle of the presentation and I commented to the presenter that I agreed that discrimination is the opposite of privilege but why does one require the other. Apparently that was evidence that my lifelong privilege has created a sense of entitlement.

You're presenting victim blaming as a barrier to getting help as if it is only a barrier to men No, he isn't. You're just interpreting his comment that way because it conveniently fits the narrative that you're actually the bigger victim here. There are few if any that exist today because women have invaded all of those spaces. The Boy Scouts, The Elks, and Kiwanis are examples of organizations that filled that role in the past. I answered your question, your turn. For the third time, why do you present this argument as if we absolutely must exist on one extreme or the other? Why are you outright stating that our only two options are no male only spaces or spaces where all men inevitably act in the most monstrous way imaginable?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/21 04:02 AM
2

That would depend on the fraternity. A middle ground would provide the benefits previously that came from those spaces, specifically support systems and social capital, without devolving into the worst case scenario that you immediately jumped to and pretended is the desired and inevitable outcome (that fallacy is called the false dilemma, if you were wondering).
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/21 02:27 AM

Nice deflection. Again, why do we have to operate on one extreme or the other?

Why does it have to be one extreme or the other?
/r/PurplePillDebate23/03/21 01:32 AM

One of the most overlooked negative side effects of feminism has been the complete demolition of male only spaces. Those spaces were and are terribly important for men to create a support systems and develop social capital.

So you’d agree that nobody holds the moral high ground when it comes to conquester on conquerter violence? Because the argument I’m making is that no reasonable person can claim the Americans killing 25,000 people and conquering territory in a war is somehow morally outrageous while taking the side of the Mexicans who killed millions of people in a genocide to conquer the country originally.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/21 07:04 PM
1

I don’t understand the relevance of the point? The comment I was replying to stated that the “(the Mexicans) don’t kill you in the process” as if the Mexicans aren’t overwhelmingly descendants of the Spanish who committed a terrible genocide against the native populations of Mexico. They don’t have the moral high ground here.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/21 06:34 PM
1

About 1/5 of the population of Mexico claims indigenous descent. But it gets sort of murky when you consider mixed heritages because we aren’t very good at figuring out where to draw the line on this sort of thing.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/21 05:05 PM

Except I never said otherwise. I’m not the one expressing moral outrage here. You are. And the Mexicans did the exact same things you have expressed such righteous indignation over the Americans doing. It’s silly.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/03/21 04:55 PM
2

You took the land from the Mexicans, the Mexicans are taking it back from you. What goes around come around. And the Mexicans are nicer, they don't kill you in the process... Are we really going to pretend like the Mexicans didn't kill off millions of indigenous people? Get the fuck outta here.

Because it was relevant to a question asked about giving women the right to vote in regards to the topic of structures within a society. Why are you determined to argue with me? That women were given the right to vote without the responsibilities required of men to receive the same right. I’ve offered no commentary or opinion, I’ve only stated that simple, irrefutable fact. You’re just so desperate to argue with somebody that you have to attribute all kinds of hidden motives to simple statements. It’s certainly not a productive way to approach the world.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/21 09:35 PM

That is not true. You've assumed that because it's convenient for your argument, but I've never stated and don't believe that registering for the selective service should be a prerequisite for voting rights. I've simply stated that currently and for the last 100+ years, it has been a requirement of men and not of women. Men are required to accept further responsibility in exchange for the right to vote and women are not.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/03/21 09:05 PM

I think roughly 15 million American men have been drafted in the years since women were given the vote and not one single woman has. That’s not only relevant, it’s clear cut evidence that women received rights without the corresponding responsibilities required of men.

Because socialism can pretend to be about whatever it wants, but it's actually about power. It's about forcing outcomes onto people whether they want them or not. The only people found to work less hours under a UBI were students and mothers to young children. In both cases, an argument can be made that time invested into education and parenting leads to greater production in the long term. That's a great theory, but it doesn't stand up to scrutiny. No they are not. The Soviets paid a wage based on the completion of an assigned quota of work. If you didn't work, not only did you not get paid, but you got charged with being a parasite and thrown in prison. If you have to work to receive it, it's a wage, not a UBI. I don't think you're stupid, but I do think you're deliberately being dishonest about what a UBI is because you have a goal of winning the argument instead of a goal of telling the the truth. The fundamental component of socialism is social or governmental ownership of the means of production. Full stop. Nothing more and nothing less. To apply anything else to that is dishonest. That's not even close to reality. UBI is a social security program, it's not socialism. Even if it was, that's not what I asked you for. Instead of broad, false generalizations, I'm asking specifically for evidence to support your claim that a UBI (not socialism, but a specific basic income program) has resulted in worsening economic positions. Give me a country and a UBI program that has had the affects you've claimed. Just one.

TRP doesn't present itself as a holistic anything. It presents itself as uncomfortable truths in a world full of lies. And regarding marriage, TRP would suggest that at this specific moment in time, marriage is a poor decision for men because the risk is not worth the reward. That hasn't always been the case and does not have to always be the case, but so long as it remains the case, men shouldn't consider marriage.

None of that has anything at all to do with the entire concept of the Wall. It has nothing to do with women living a life of relative comfort outside of marriage. This is like having a conversation about racism and you keep bringing up the weather and pretending that they have something to do with the other. The Wall is a concept that deals exclusively with the sexual and relationship marketplace. The entire debate is within the frame of relationships, not socio-economic status or anything else.…
/r/PurplePillDebate27/02/21 07:17 PM

You're deliberately misinterpreting what is meant by "the Wall" in an effort to make it seem not important. Specifically you are pointing to women's economic status as if it is important to her value in the sexual marketplace. It has very little impact on that. Your entire premise is based on a faulty assumption.

There are clear distinctions between economic identity politics and social identity politics, but they are both identity politics. If you aren't smart enough to defend your position, why do you have one? It's far better to say that you don't know than to express a position that you can't support and don't understand. People do change economic class all the time, that's an irrefutable fact. In 1990, more than 1/3 of the people on earth lived in extreme poverty. In 2015, that number fell below 10%…

It’s arbitrary because it’s based on your personal whim instead of an objective standard. Religion is a basis of identity politics but it’s not immutable, people convert to different religions or become non-believers all the time. Economic class is the same way. It has nothing to do with immutable or not. You've just arbitrarily decided to draw a line there because you want to engage in identity politics while simultaneously demonizing people who engage in identity politics. Economic class and religion are two examples of areas where people play identity politics using non-biological, non-immutable characteristics.

The path was never easy. You just believe it used to be because that’s the narrative that’s consistently parroted by people who have an agenda to downplay male achievement and promote female achievement. It has no basis in reality. Women drive well over half of the spending in the west, so the narrative in place caters to them. The idea that people at any point on history had “an easy path” is delusional. “Abuse a woman into marriage”. What an absolute dogshit take.

It's not "ability to attract" it's "ability to win the approval of". There's a very big difference. They're trained to seek the approval of women who are the only people in positions of authority and responsibility in their life. It defines their childhood. Thank you. People measuring the success of a marriage based on the feelings of its participants is silly. Marriage wasn't created as a tool for people to find happiness, it was created as a way to ensure social stability. Women were provided for and protected, and men were guaranteed paternity (at least in theory) and provided a reason to contribute to a collective society.

I don't think most or even many TRP men are anti-abortion as much as they are eager to point out how an ideology like feminism that professes to promote equality isn't interested in acknowledging or taking any steps towards rectifying the severe imbalance that exists between the gender with regards to reproductive rights. It's about pointing out hypocrisy and injustice.

See, that's the point. Instead of acknowledging the actual intent behind the saying, you've decided the reinterpret it in a way that is clearly different from the intent and then claim the whole statement is wrong. It's a terribly dishonest way to discuss anything. What was your point exactly? Basically what you're doing is the equivalent of saying men can't be sexist because men and women are so much more alike than different. It's petty, pointless, and intellectually dishonest.

You're ignoring the nuance because it's inconvenient for your position. It's sort of like how men are more disagreeable than women on the average and on the extremes, but if you took a random man and a random woman out of the population there would be a 40% chance that the woman is more disagreeable. There are commonalities and there is significant overlap between the genders, but the differences are still there and still noticeable. It's not men who put pressure on their partners to get married…

I disagree with both of the areas where you critique what you believe to be redpill ideas. First, both men and women aren't hypergamous. Hypergamy is marrying up the social hierarchy. Men are not hypergamous, they are perfectly willing to marry down. Women are not. Men and women are both capable of branch-swinging, which is what you are describing and is entirely different than hypergamy. What you're doing is the equivalent of a man getting punched in the mouth by another man, and the one who go…

No, I'm not. You're the one who is only viewing this through an economic lens. It's a social status lens. There is a difference. Teresa Heinz married a US Senator. Chelsea Clinton married the son of two members of Congress. Ivanka Trump married the son of a wealthy real estate investor. Kamala Harris married a partner at the third largest law firm in the United States. Beyonce married Jay-Z. They were all women of high status who married men of high status because women don't marry men beneath t…

Repeat after me. That. Is. Not. Hyper. Gamy. If Teresa Heinz married the manager of the local Staples, that would be the man being hypergamous, and the woman marrying a man beneath her in the social hierarchy. Marrying a US Senator is not marrying down for any woman.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/21 07:54 AM

That's not an example of hypergamy. John Kerry was a United States Senator at the time. He didn't have her wealth, but his position on the social hierarchy was at least as high as hers.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/02/21 07:48 AM
21

Hypergamy means marrying up the social hierarchy. People confuse status within the social hierarchy with status within the sexual marketplace. They are not the same thing. In the case of men, their status in the social hierarchy plays an important role in determining their SMV, but the same is not true of women. A woman's SMV is not very related to her position in the social hierarchy. In fact, most of the women with the highest positions within the social hierarchy in the United States are ther…

No the issue is the lack of male utility. If this were 3% of men, I'd agree with you in part that it wouldn't be an important matter, but it's a full third of men. The overwhelming majority of these men don't take it out on others in violent or terrible ways. Women write out whole ass lists of things in their dating profiles for the minimum acceptable standard in their eyes (must be 6 feet tall, must have a good job, must be college educated, must accept that my kids come first, must treat me like a princess, etc.) but as soon as a man expresses one preference, all of the sudden that's just positively unacceptable and dehumanizing. It keeps the hypergamous hamster running constantly and it gives women the illusion of a choice that they don't actually have. Imagine this hypothetical scenario: You put two identical women in front of men with one exception, one has an n count of 5 and the other has an n count of 105 and ask men which they would prefer to be in a committed relationship with. Men will overwhelmingly choose the lower n count. Men seek out relationships to guarantee a source of intimacy. If women have given that intimacy to tons of other men, it's not worth as much to the man getting it exclusively.

I noticed that bit about the pimple too and it made me pause for a second. Anytime anybody makes passing reference to the other person's political views as being an issue, it comes across as self-righteous and insecure. The truth is that a very, very tiny fraction of the population on one political extreme or the other have truly disgusting views. On the other hand, a majority of people go out of their way to demonize and even dehumanize people who disagree with them because that's easier than acknowledging the weaknesses in their own views. It's a sign of immaturity. …

The question isn't "Are there more alphas out there?" The question is "What do you bring to the table to get them to commit?" My interpretation of your post is that your ex believed you to be annoying, nagging, self-righteous, and immature. And even in your own post, all those things shine through. I give the same piece of dating advice to everybody: Have terribly high standards and be worthy of the person who meets them. You can get boys to chase you when you play games, but you can't get men t…

One of my favorite ways to sort of innocently move a conversation in a more sexual direction is to ask the girl to tell the story of her first kiss or ask her how old she was when she had her first kiss. It's not overtly sexual at all, but it's almost always followed up by "How old were you when you lost your virginity?" Once that question gets asked all sexual questions are on the table and that sets the tone.

I remember seeing an interview with Jonathan Haidt where he referred to social media as a consensual hallucination. I think that's the most apt way to look at it. Once you grasp that concept it's easy to recognize it for what it is and show it the proper level of attention, which is to say little to none.

I think relationships will continue to die off unless sweeping changes are made. There's no repercussions for false rape claims, there's no repercussions for false domestic violence claims, there's no repercussions for false stalking claims, and in some places men can be forced to pay spousal support even if they were never married. There are a lot of Boomer and Gen X men who were bitten once by divorce and swore off marriage, and there are a lot of Millennials and Gen Zers who saw it happen to …

Don't bother. It's awful. It's a poorly written and barely edited rehash of the absolute basics of MGTOW philosophy.

Do you have a source? I'm not doubting you, just genuinely curious. I've always believed that chaos makes people less horny because scarcity and stress negatively affect sex drives and those clearly increase during war/famine/etc. But now that I think about it, I don't remember if I just assumed that or if it came from a reputable source.

The one area where you got it slightly wrong is sex at a young age. Gen Z is actually losing their virginity later in life than Millennials, surprisingly enough. They are also doing things like getting first jobs and driver's licences later in life. It's because, as a generation, they are terribly risk averse and outrageously overprotected. They live in little bubbles and can't handle rejection, conflict, or even the thought of being uncomfortable. Jean Twenge estimated that a Millennial at 15 w…

Exactly this. I think if she's fishing for compliments the best thing to do is drop a subtle neg. Look at fatty. Look back to her. Look back at fatty. Look back to her. "Nah, you're a little bit prettier."

The most mindblowing part of understanding the redpill mindset is the hindsight. The two relationships that I was the happiest in we weren't exclusive. The first was in college, she was a foreign exchange student. The second was in my early 20s and I was trying to find another job which would require me to relocate and there was no long term future there. In both of those cases I had outcome independence because there were no consequences if the relationship failed. In both cases, I was sleeping…
