I wish I could just re-program your mind with a few keystrokes. You have no idea how much pain you are inflicting on yourself right now. Totally unnecessary and unhealthy pain. Focus on improving yourself, despite her. Play offense, not defense. Show zero emotion, feel zero emotion. In a divorce situation, emotion is the biggest downfall for the man. I've been there. I tried for so long to prove to her I was worth it and then I came to understand she was the stupid one, she was the narcissist. A…

I highly recommend to men once divorce starts looking like a possibility, pop open the notes app on your phone or equivalent. Every time she does something that truly offends you or is wrong, make a one or two sentence note to yourself. If you stick to it, you may be surprised how fast that list adds up. Then, after you file your divorce, when you have those "weak moments", pull up that list and read through all the shit she put you through. That'll help with any conflict of mind, if you were go…

We're never going to revert back to a society where 90% of the labor force is men. Therefore, divorce is an obsolete social construct that should be avoided in the West. It's like signing a contract for a horse and buggy, but expecting a new Mercedes. Even if you have an iron clad, nails pre-nup and post-nup, you're already admitting the situation has a high probability to fail, so why do it?

Which is exactly why you shouldn't worry about it and take care of yourself. I've been in your shoes. I know the feeling, but once the dust settled, I did a review of my life and understood when it comes to women and marriage, I was doing two things very wrongly: allowing emotion to have any impact whatsoever on decisions I made regarding a woman my upbringing and people around me made me feel like growing up and getting married is the thing normal people do. I understood later that marriage is …

OP, perhaps I misunderstood your post, but it doesn't look like she completely internalized those feelings of unhappiness. You stated she has treated you with contempt for months. That, my friend, couldn't be clearer sign of unhappiness on her part and any man should understand this. I will just go ahead and tell you this now, but it's what you do NOW that matters the most, because you can't change the past. You need to understand it's over and divert all of your energies into protecting yoursel…

No, marriage comes from a time when men owned women. It was never designed for men and women to be equal partners. It's a failed institution from the word go. A few lucky souls make it through until they die, but they still didn't need a piece of paper to live their truth and be with the love of their life. Today, marriage is only used to gather reparations from the men for all the years that men owned women. Fuck marriage. I have no desire to own a woman, nor do I have a desire to have my desti…

God damn it!!! God damn it!!! Protect the castle at all costs. Do not spare a tear or hesitate to make further improvements to the home after the divorce is finalized and stamped by the judge. Erase any and all memories of her from the home. Enjoy the windfall that will be its appreciation over the coming years. You will understand with time that being cold, heartless and neutral in attitude and emotion towards her is the answer. You're a top general in a war and that house is your capital. Set …

OP fell for the "marriage therapy" con. They are empathetic sounding salespeople who take your money and don't do jack shit but leave you feeling extremely vulnerable and embarrassed that you confided the intimate details of your personal life with this stranger. If you can't talk to your wife without another person in the room, that's probably a bad sign. The good news is you can start planning your exit now while she's fully invested in the therapy and then when it's "convenient" for you to wa…

I hate to tell you this, but you're still defending her by making this post. You're looking for validation, but you already have it, many times over. Giving a literal fuck about anything to do with this woman at this point is defending her. I mean your thesis is correct, but men need to do this from the start. She is still living rent free inside your head. If you have to think of yourself as a super villain, so be it. You need to be an absolute monster, while remaining within the law.

Man, I thought I got hosed in my divorce. I could only imagine what it would have looked like if I didn't handle the finances. Marriage is the biggest sham there's ever been. Children are a blessing, but the marriage vows are your mandatory sentence. Even if you get married and stay married 50+ years til you die, what did you prove? That you can have a wedding and stay with one person for 50+ years, grow old and die? Guess what? You could have done that without the expensive wedding and the obli…

As Khan once said, "Revenge is a dish best served cold.” Cold as in zero emotion. Your child is your highest and only priority. The stbx gets zero emotion from you.

OP, do you drink alcohol? If you do.. stop. 100% sobriety. Get your mind clear. Eat healthy foods. Drink water and milk. Get a good multi-vitamin. Get some exercise.. it doesn't have to be overly intense. Preferably get some exercise outdoors, so you can let the sun do its magic. Breathe. Give yourself a break. Once your mind clears, you'll see this all for what it is and you'll hate the time you wasted being under her domain.

So long as they were deposited or purchased after the wedding, yes, 50/50. If you had cash or assets in the joint bank account before you married, that's going to take some effort, but you may be able to claw some of that back if you contributed more than 50/50 to the account. May or may not be worth your hassle. Depending on Oregon law, it may or may not even be possible.

Understood. I am not a lawyer, nor am I in Oregon, but I found this online: "in Oregon, the court will presume that the spouses contributed equally to the acquisition of most property during marriage, regardless of what title says. Property acquired equally will be split equally. The only assets left out of this presumption are gifts to one spouse that are always kept separate." https://www.divorcenet.com/resources/divorce/marital-property-division/oregon-divorce-dividing-proper#:~:text=In%20Ore…

As for splitting equity in the home, it will be the current equity at time of filing, minus whatever determined equity she had in the home on the day of marriage if you were not on the deed of the home when you married. Unfortunately, if you were not on the deed at time of marriage, she will be able to claim all the equity that was in the home as of the day of marriage. So you will probably need to determine what the perceived market value of the home was on the day of your wedding. Deduct her p…

Bare minimum, you should never ever have a thought of marrying a woman who isn't your financial, industrious and moral equal (or better). If you go into the marriage earning more than her, you've just signed up for a prison sentence. The main thing that changed is women adapted and figured out how to work the system in their favor. It's like why would you sign up for a credit card that has an 80% APR? But if you could sign up for a credit card that had a -80% APR, you would in a heartbeat, would…

If your parents are on board for #3 and it's not going to cause hiccups with your son and exchanges with your ex-wife, that is an easy call to make. Normally, I would tell you that you have to consider what life will be like sharing the house with your parents, but you nailed it. The market is shit right now. Nobody is buying or moving out of their rental unless they absolutely have to. Rents are just as insane as home prices and interest rates. Unless you live in an area where you can get a ste…

If you have no children together.......Next time she brings it up, just casually tell her "you know I was thinking about how I told you I wanted you back and how foolish it was to allow my emotions to get the better of me. I truly just want to fuck other women and I'm loving it. Thank you for divorcing me. The orgasms since I've had this epiphany have been out of this world!! I couldn't have done it without your help!!!"

That she's using your child as a vehicle to procure protected data about you tells you what kind of individual she is. Sooner hopefully rather than later, you'll get to a point where you automatically dismiss, out of hand, anything she says about anything, because you wouldn't trust a terrorist to give you directions to the local gas station, would you? More concerning to you should be the way she views your child than yourself, as there may be legal standing which presents a need for you to rem…

$85k is a significant savings. Nicely done. I hope other men are reading and taking notes. Plan your divorce. Take the initiative. Do not tip your hand. This is what women have been doing to men for years now. Stop desperately looking for reasons it could all work out. End it now before you get screwed. With mine, I do have to worry about false allegations and such. Another reason I'm going behind her back is so that she can't claim something happened that didn't. She could still do so, in theor…

This is what I was looking for. I'll probably skip the telling her part and let her find out about it in the mail. Same in my state and in most states. The day you file is your asset split date. Whatever you need to get done, get done and then file. I've learned a lot from women.

This is all depends on the individual. We've all met the 5 who think she's a 10. And I've met a few 8's and 9's that don't see themselves as an 8 or 9 or if they do, they're very good at hiding it. Regardless of their hotness scale rating, if a woman isn't humble and realistic, it's not gonna matter if she's a 6 or a 9. I'm not totally against marriage, but there are a few simple guidelines (work in progress): she should contribute materially the same amount or more than you do, no exceptions da…

Semantics. You're dreaming up justifications to prolong the agony. Look, I've been in your shoes. That's how I can tell you this with confidence. I was told how I parted the Red Sea over and over, and how I was the best dad she's ever known. I spent years justifying in my own head why the fucked up things she did would work themselves out and we'd be okay. That's called day-dreaming. I needed a wake up call. I got it and when I woke up, I knew without a doubt, it was over. Perhaps you'll cross t…

I don't think you love her. You just feel sorry for her. There's a big difference. I don't know how a man can possibly love a woman he refuses to put his dick in. She's pushing you towards something that will keep that ball and chain around your ankle for at least another 18 years. Don't listen to the BS about how you're "the one". She's just saying that to stroke your ego to buy herself a little more time, hoping you'll slip up and get her preggo or at least enough time for her to find some oth…

I left out some details such as, we've been to counseling already and I have been fighting for my marriage for at least about 4 years now, because that's about how long I've been able to confirm she's nutso. I know you didn't know that, but at the same time, I don't think you get to where I am without going through hell or spending a lot of time trying to get out of hell. It is clearly psychological, emotional and verbal abuse. What I did for too long is what you just told me to do (no offense).…

She's looking at your FB stories to find something to use against you in court or to harm your reputation with others. I promise you, there is no other reason. You can block her on FB, but she'll create a fake account to stalk you with. Stop sharing stories on FB or any other social media. You don't need to share stories on FB to satisfy friends and family. It will be your undoing. Loose lips sink ships. You're at war. Accept it, embrace it and move the fuck on.

There are only two options: sell it immediately if it's worthless or the hassle of selling it costs more than the value, yeet that mofo as far as you can into an open field or large river, mutter a few legendary curse words and be done with it

Before I can finalize divorce, yes, but filing divorce, I don't think the bankruptcy can block a divorce filing. The divorce case (or at least the asset distribution part of it) is put on hold until the bankruptcy is resolved, if my understanding is correct.
