Being selfish doesn’t mean someone is a narcissist

Someone wanting out of a relationship makes them a narcissist?

I was afraid of not seeing my kid everyday but the mental drain of living with someone I despised, changed my mind. I don’t see my kid as often as I like but life is a million times better than if I had stayed. I get to do all the fun things I want with kiddo without her around and the last 5 years have been the best.

Sorry your Ex is a cunt. Mine is as well.

My Ex refused and suggested I needed it. That was enough for me to realize it was time to get out and that I dodged a bullet by wasting anymore time

Who cares what she thinks. You’re moving on and so is she. Change all of your passwords so this doesn’t happen again. Focus on you and forgot about her

Best to talk to your partner but figuring out if you’re happy is most important. Focus on you. Good things are coming your way!

I was always wrong and she never recognized when she was wrong. Back handed apologies. She didn’t know how to communicate so nothing got resolved. Everything was an issue because if it wasn’t her way, it was wrong. Hated my family for every little thing. My kid was very young when I realized I needed to get out and COVID delayed it about a year but I finally had enough. I spent the worst 8 month of my life living with her while we got our separation sorted out but once that was done, I was out. …

Focus your thoughts elsewhere. You too, will be getting laid soon so it’s all good bro

Most definitely. Dude, you’re 24 and no kids. If you love her, try counseling and if not, cut the cord and get out. Time to enjoy your youth my man!

Unless it has to do with your kids, stop caring about what she does or says. The sooner you do that, the sooner you’ll be enjoying life again.

Let it go bro. You’ll be a lot better off when you stop caring.

I can appreciate you wanting him to work and be responsible for paying for these privileges. I came from a similar upbringing. I don’t know your history with your son but from the outside looking in, you seem to be reacting a little harshly by kicking him out so quickly over this. I hope it all works out bro

I’m sure you’ll make a great partner/husband for someone who actually loves you for who you are. Life is too short to be be with someone like that. Sounds like a blessing in disguise

If you stay, things will only get worse. Get out while you still have your sanity. Personally, I miss seeing my little guy every day but it’s a sacrifice I had to make in order to be happy.

I gave up on mediation after 3 sessions when it was very clear the mediator was leaning heavily to my ex. In my experience mediator will only work if both parties are mostly agreeable on issues. Either way, good luck man!

It’s my first Christmas semi alone as well. I see my son the day after Christmas so I smoked a joint, I’m sipping a nice single malt and listening to tunes. Whatever it is you end up doing I hope you enjoy it brother. Merry Christmas!

Keep it separate bro. If you guys got along I’d say yeah, go for it. This is my first Christmas after separating earlier this year and I cannot wait to watch him open his gifts with just him and I.

Don’t doubt something you’ve been thinking about for so long. We don’t leave people we love. If you don’t have kids with her, you’re that much better off and life becomes so much easier. Stay strong man and go get yourself laid!
/r/Divorce_Men16/12/21 05:36 PM

This is not true. I would recommend getting a lawyer whatever it is you decide to do. If you have young kids, do not leave the house before an agreement is in place. Stay strong and good luck

It all depends on your situation. I tried Mediation with my ex who is a Narcissistic cunt and after 3 sessions I decided to hire a lawyer.

If you’re debating you already know brother. It’s a long shitty process (still going through my own) but it’s all worth it if she doesn’t make you happy.

What I learned from mediation. Don’t go to mediation. Get a lawyer instead

Stay strong and remain focused on your son. Hopefully your lawyer can help get you the custody you deserve.

If kids are involved the courts could view a parent leaving as a negative. I was told by my lawyer before I even retained him, do not leave the family home.

I can assure you life will improve even though you’re living under the same roof. It’s been 3 months for me and even though I can’t stand the sight of my ex and her voice makes me cringe, I remind myself everyday that this is temporary. Make your daughter your focus and keep your eye on the finish line.

If I can offer one piece of advice it would be, DO NOT LEAVE the home. I’m 3 months into my separation (My ex and I were common law and have a preschooler together) and it sucks but I get to see my son everyday. It’s going to drive you bonkers but try to stay strong and focus on your daughter. This move is for both of you. As a few others have said, consult a lawyer. It’s the rest of your life you’re planning. Good luck man

Dude, listen to every guy in here and speak to a lawyer. We all make mistakes but the biggest one would be not getting legal representation. You’re still young, think about your future.

I told my common law wife a month and a half ago but I had been thinking about it for 3 years. A young child kept me around longer than it should have been but it was a really tough decision. I got tired of being miserable at home and now I’m a lot happier. Life is short man, time to get back to being happy.

Sounds like you need to get out man. If you’re not sure how to do it, maybe think about speaking to a Professional. I knew what I had to do but speaking to someone helped. I recently told my SO that I wanted out and it feels great. There will be tough times ahead but you’ll be better off and be the best Dad. Life is way too short. Good luck man.
