1	Being a male is hard in the Air Force My wife didn't get shafted. Theres a process like I said. They do it routinely in the air force too. I personally know people who have had breast implants and reductions, even nose surgeries. And you know what, they didnt just walk into their pcms office one day, ask for it, and get it the next day. 0	Being a male is hard in the Air Force Dude, it's the same thing. The fact is it's not free unless it's deemed medically necessary. You can get around it but telling people it's a benefit they should join for is just wrong. Frankly, because it's untrue. I know far too many people who look from the outside in and make judgments like you are and tell people "the way it is." But it's false. Reconstructive surgeons are provided for veterans injured in such a way they need it. You're right about the training part but it's not free. Heres another source for you. 0	Being a male is hard in the Air Force Again, my wife lost a lot of weight and tricare policies are essentially the same as AD. She cant get a tummy tuck because even though she lost weight it's not hurting her healthwise and mentally. Sure you can get it. 0	Being a male is hard in the Air Force Cosmetic surgery? The military does not give you free "cosmetic surgery." They give you necessary surgeries. You're not going to get breast implants because you want them, it's because you need them. Hell, Tricare doesn't even give a shit if you need braces, dude. Slightly different but essentially the same rules for AD. Don't list a benefit that isn't true. Just because someone got a cosmetic surgery doesn't mean everyone will get it.
