Anybody from The Netherlands and (a little less) Germany, perhaps Scandinavia? I'd hardly consider our women snowflake princesses with an entitlement attitude. Being self sufficient is a higher value. As far as I know the general opinion is women should work. Especially in the younger generations. Actually if you look at the numbers in the millenial generation, women are educated better and make more money than their male counterparts. You will still get divorce raped and people screw around.. b…

Sounds great, and sounds like a good company to work for too, and indeed a great chance for you. Our (my) company policy is work 6 hours / day whenever you want. Training during the day is highly encouraged. Happy people is good company. Do you know FIRE (financial independence, retire early)? Most people who do it have a job. A good paycheck is a pretty stable way to grow your wealth. Certainly when, like you, are planning to add on real estate investments and side income. You're probably famil…

Indeed people make a distinction between hard workers and slackers. There's plenty of time to do both. Most important is that the work you do is the right work. Spending 80 hours a week on the wrong thing is less efficient than spending 20 on the right thing. Why did you choose for a corporate career? To me that falls in the 80 hours /w on the wrong thing, namely working for someone else. Ever thought about being an entrepeneur now? (I get that now you have a fat expat contract it's probably not…

Being able to cover needs is one thing, one could argue feeling a need to make a whole bunch of money, dedicated your life to that and extract fake self-value from your money and materials is kind of pathetic. I'll be able to live on the beach somewhere and fish all day' - Man who doesn't see he can do that right now - Michael Scott - Thistookmedays

Feeling insignificant isn't something I recognise. Not in any kind of situation.

Isn't this how society works nowadays? Any attractive person between 16 and 28 will be sleeping around quite a lot. Add in a few couple month flings, bunch of tinder dates, maybe a few 'serious' relation of 1-3 years, friends with benefits etcetera. Till you run in to someone that is really better than the others and settle down. Or not finding that person / being unwifeable like the woman who wrote the article.

Makes me wonder what part American macho culture plays in this and if there's a difference to other cultures. My guess is showing feelings is much less a problem for women in Scandinavia and/or quite a lot of European countries. I get that you're supposed to be a rock but I cannot imagine sharing your feelings makes women shut you out instantly. Anybody that has experience on both continents?

If there is one place where girls do not want to be approached it is the gym. I've heard over and over from girls they not comfortable working out just anywhere, because the men gaze. There are quite a few 'ladies only' gyms and I get why.

Let's say there's a party of a friend in the next town. You might think ok great I can take Jim, John, Janis and Jack. Then the car's full. But then you find out Jack is already driving. He doesn't offer you a seat, but that's just because it doesn't come up to him to be nice to people without having a direct benefit. You ask Jack if you can join because he's driving anyway. He tells you sure, he's going from his place straight to the party and he's leaving at 20:00. So be at his place at 20:00.…

Once hit a club in Barcelona.. one outside of the centre. Locals brought us. At about 7 in the morning I saw dozens of people passed out on the streets outside. Dozens is usually an expression.. but I really mean I saw 20+ people not being able to do anything anymore.

If getting a €10 more expensive hairdresser is one of the best decisions in your life, you may need to rethink your life.

Well I'm not saying you don't need to be a bit different than rest of society. I'm smart and social, but I'm not working wonders here and with the right mindset this isn't all that difficult. I highly admire those that run an actual business that costs risk and money to set up. But here goes. Work / income Say you start freelancing at age 22. Pick any wanted skill (mine = internet marketing / websites). Soon, after you've got a bit of portfolio, you'll charge 80$ + an hour, make $640 day, $3200 …

I drink, I smoke, I binge-watch. I don't meditate. Because I enjoy these things. I eat healthy, I have a successful business, I've been lifting for years. I'm social. I get plenty of sleep. Because I enjoy these things. I'm in that 10% you mentioned. Probably top 1%. This list is perfectly negotiable.
