I literally don't know anyone in my area, so it's kind of weird when meeting someone and I don't really have a group to fall back to. Use that to your advantage, in terms of how you mentally frame it. You get a chance to build a social circle that actually suits you, whereas I would imagine that you, like many of us, had some friends back home who just happened to be people who sat next to you in class when you were 11 or liked the same things you liked a long time ago.

It would be comedic if it wasn't so tragic. The perfect way to describe it.

Always found this guy's approach interesting. Definitely unique, but also effective, in its own way :)

Yeah, that's a great way to re-frame your relationship to that kind of fear.

The last part seems like a really good shift in efficiency of effort and time spent.

Thanks for your reply, it was quite elightening. I was genuinely curious to know how your mind worked in that scenario :)

I realized I was like, MADLY in love with him. There were no warning signs? It really just came as a full on realisation?

I turned up with awful looking clothes, a terrible haircut and sat in my own corner of the lecture hall and never really talked to anyone, I hear people giggling behind my back sometimes and people whispering about "that guy" when I go near them Turn that into a positive. When you improve your looks in that respect, in line with a look that feels good for you, then you'll have drastically improved how you are perceived. Suddenly it'll be "Wow! That's that guy?!" :)

I agree with this perspective. I think it's another reason why working out and dieting also help other aspects of your life. As you develop the will power sufficient to stick with those aspects you will see that you are more able to discipline yourself in other areas of life. All of which increases your confidence, making you feel like you can accomplish anything :)

IIRC it was a similar scenario with female praying mantis' eating the heads of males.

That reminds of a quote from James Cameron (the journalist, not the film director) that every time he sat down and stared a typewriter he'd think "Today's the day they're going to find me out", despite obviously being a very successful journalist.

I occasionally get cat calls/compliments on the street but obviously from men who are unappealing/homeless/etc. Just realised how depressing that must be.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
