No idea why some of the comments are so sassy here, this is the most sane question I've seen on this sub and honestly something I used to ask myself in some ways when I was single. Im not a woman (obviously) but I have a girlfriend/ lots of female friends and at least in my circle they all really hated online dating. The way they've all openly said the way they wanted to meet/have met their partners is mutual social circles, clubs (when we were in uni and not the party kind) and other kind of "t…

Depends on what you mean by overweight? Obese? no Current GF would probably classify as overwight, but not by a whole lot. I literally don't care I'm attracted to her.

Investing your happiness totally in either is a mistake. If I had to pick one I'd take partner any day, despite my job being the source of my unhappiness right now.

My relationship is breaking down a bit, but yes I love my partner of 4 years. I tell her everything, I love hanging out with her and I respect her opinion a lot. Sometimes I look up to her a bit too much to be honest. We're in different stages in our lives unfortunately, and even if our relationship won't be able to hold out I'll still feel the same way in one way or another for a very long time.

Great insight, I remember reading that a while ago that male job satisfaction is a lot lower. And I've certainly seen it, the trades are fucking rough man.

I'm more blue than red pill so I'm probably gonna end up agreeing with you largely but w.e 1) Religion. It's not a huge factor where I live but religious communities by and large assign the duty of pushing to have kids and settle down on women. Its feminism thats responsible for the break down of the nuclear family or smth. 2) Perceived (&real) biological difference. A lot of people see that you can have kids as a man at 50 but not as a woman meaning men can take all the time in the world. Stric…

Just an anecdote, not a deconstruction or argument here: I knew a girl that was 6'1 who was also just generally conventionally attractive. She told me she's kind of attracted to men who are a bit shorter than her. Being tall was her thing and she didnt really want to lose that.

I dont think this is universal, to be honest I've met more women who WANT to be friends first, or its how they ended up with their boyfriend.

How have I had such opposite experiences to you? My female friends don't want me for anything other than being my friend. The ones I had in highschool it was like that too.

My friend group I've held for years is 50/50 male-female, same with the social circles I've had in highschool. For the past year or so I've been going through a tough time and they've built me up, offered to pay or do something cheaper without so much as batting an eye because of my financial issues. They've also played match maker for one of the guys in my group to tremendous success, and told the other to dump a very toxic woman he was with and sat there and called him a king after breaking it…

"Approaches the world from a place of kindness and curiosity, rather than suspicion and judgement." & "Strong moral base and sense of self, but open minded enough to accept differences." Are way better ways of saying what I wanted to say.

I find it really hard to describe personality, because most of the time it just falls apart once you start tacking on things like "smart" or "funny". Some women I've been attracted to havent been through deep discussions or matching my humour, others it has totally has been driven by that. The only things I can say with some certainty is "authenticity" & "humility". If I feel like all you've done most of your life is act or believe certain things because "that's just what people do" then I don't…

I'm a naturally open person with my emotions, so theres not particular instance I can recall really. I'm also going through a very complicated period in my life, so I'm probably not the best example since I'm at the extreme end here. I've cried, ranted; generally some combination of the two. At times I've been calm as well. My life is going a direction I dread professionally and I've had a protracted existential crises over it where I can't seem to decide where to go or what to do. That's whats …
