I think this is also partly due to the bystander affect, basically the more people that whiteness an event where help is needed the less likely someone will step forward and help. 30	What if women don't have higher rates of mental illness at all? (a tough pill to swallow for feminists) Men are more likely to be diagnosed with addiction problems. This could mean that they are self medicating their depression. Because not having problems/vulnerabilities is attractive in men we are less likely to report many problems that might be medical. 1	Male-female friendships are never equal; one side is always the orbiter I agree but I don't think it forgets to account for incompatible sexuality in general. For instance you can have an equal friendship between a homosexual male and a homosexual female because neither sees the other as a valid mate.
