Not whataboutism. I was specifically addressing your claim of homogeny. Most of the other things you claimed were addressed in another comment. It is a movie about a "hidden" African country. In most African countries you would be hard pressed to find the diversity you find in America or even England. Again movies set in India have Indian people abound. To call black panther homogenous is akin to being mad there are no iPhones in a 80s movie.

I think social impact of a film is 100% a valid qualifier for an award. For example certain albums/songs change the way music is made going forward for a generation and they absolutely deserve to be honored for it.

Please post your top 15. Also I don't black panther is going up against every comic movie ever made. It's going up against the best movies of this year. The vitriol towards black panther on Reddit is palpable. I too can go to great lengths to discredit a body of work I don't personally like. There are whole YouTube channels dedicated to nitpicking movies. You can do this with any film.

Hmmm, I'm kinda old but not married. If my gf of 3 years thought it was cool to feel up some dude while she was holding my hand I wouldn't spazz either. I would just let go of her hand, walk away and never feel the need to interact with her again. If you're cool with your wife doing that then pm her number, I got you covered fam.
