Tl;dr: A man embroiled in a custody dispute who have been spotted protesting in Wellington, New Zealand over the past week or two (according to witnesses) set himself on fire in front of Parliament yesterday. The other issue with this is it needlessly limits the number of firefighters you can hire. If a city is in dire need of 200 firefighters, but only 10 applicants are female, if they follow this 50/50 rule, they can only fill 20 positions max. Then on top of that you run the risk of the 10 female applicants who got the job purely because of their gender aren't actually fit for the role. The government is playing with fire, and the citizens are the ones who will get burnt.

I can be left leaning on some issues, and right leaning on others, but overall I am not a fan of Act. I'll have a read of their policies, but to be honest, I am unlikely to vote for them. I wonder if sending the NZ parties an email asking them certain questions would be worthwhile. I might do that.

Goes and interviews people, gets some really good responses, then dismisses them all at the end as unintelligible and calls the people she interviewed "fucking weird". I have always argued that regardless of how common campus rape is, it will never justify discarding due process. Hi guys, I'm the one who wrote the article, and I wanted to thank you all for the feedback. I admit, the wage gap is probably the one thing in there I didn't research as diligently as the rest of it.
