I don’t want our system either - the US system was a hell of a lot better before the government got involved. I wouldn’t want the NHS either though.

She’s a good mom, does great by the kids, and we are mutually respectful of each other. Not good with finances or impulse control, but my anger is with the system, not her.

That’s the thing that blows my mind when I see folk from the UK bragging “my ambulance is free” or “my healthcare is free” — nothing is free, it has to be produced and paid for by someone. I guess “my healthcare is paid for by the millions of people who are being forced to pay for it through confiscatory taxation levels” just doesn’t roll off the tongue as nicely and is harder for the marketing team.

I pay my ex the equivalent of a $32k annual salary (less in actual numbers since she gets it tax free). She also qualifies for all of the social services so in the end she’s getting about the equivalent of an $80k salary to sit at home. Very annoying that she doesn’t work and yet sits there collecting about 75% of what I do through 50 hours of work. Still a bargain compared to her spending habits when married lol.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
