Interesting... I hadn't heard of that. Do you (or someone else) have any more info on that? Sources, links, ect?

Where did I suggest that we shouldn't approach women we find attractive? In fact, I said that I actually would: "If I'm interested I'll talk to her..." But let me try to paraphrase your post: Speaking with your wife, she told you that, even though she is very beautiful, she is too afraid of rejection to make the first move if there is any chance of a "no." Armed with the revelation that women can also fear rejection, you came here to tell us, "Guys! Ask her out! She might just be scared of you s…

No, I didn't. Thing is, men going up to and talking to the pretty girls is already what's expected. We don't know if they are interested in us, if they saw us but aren't interested, or if they aren't even aware of our presence yet, but we are still expected to go up an talk to them. We are expected to risk rejection. Your post comes from your wife commenting on how women are too scared of rejection to make the first move. So your response is to ... tell men to follow gender norms and expectation…

Ooorrr.... she can bite the bullet and risk rejection. Just like men are expected to do. Really, all I hear from this is "take the risk so that women don't have to." No, thank you. If I'm interested I'll talk to her, sure, but if she's interested it's on her to talk to me

Since you clearly don't know: CNC stands for consensual non-consent. This means that everyone is consenting to the scenario. I don't see the lad here consenting, i see him confronting his partner ( which tells me he isn't okay with it) and her saying "you clearly liked it, therefore it's okay!" A similar argument to saying "you got wet/orgasmed, so you must have liked it and therefore it wasn't rape!"

My theory is basic gender roles and expectations. Men are the ones expected to initiate and therefore the ones who are at most risk of being friendzoned. They are expected to be able to accept and handle it. Men understand it takes confidence and courage, and they understand how devastating rejection can be. Because of this, acting salty after being friendzoned can be likened to bad sportsmanship after losing a game. At least, in societies eyes. Women generally are not expected to understand thi…

Im... improving. Or at least, trying to. Realized that I've been dealing with self-loathing for some time, which drove me into isolating myself just about as much as I could. But, I'm getting better. Have started to rejoin the world. Find it easier to believe that people actually want to be around me and enjoy my presence. Asked out a lass I had an eye for (she said no. Her loss.). Have a few people I might be able to call friend now. I'm also looking into therapy. I've managed so far but I can …

No, we wouldn't suggest that she leaves for a few days while you work out your game-loss anger. We would suggest that she leaves. Full stop. Only if she absolutely refuses would we consider suggesting some sort of compromise, such as leaving the house for a few days.

I dont think I would. But I seriously doubt a course on handling a gun safely will cover how to hold and aim it when trying to end yourself.
/r/MensRights21/07/21 04:27 AM
3

I could understand easy access to guns increasing the gun suicide rate, but I don't understand how learning about gun safety does so. Most adults could probably tell you that the way a gun works is: the trigger is pulled, a bullet flies out of the gun, and if the bullet hits a person they suffer a potentially fatal injury. Don't need much of a lesson for that.

Not sure I understand the link between knowledge of gun safety and gun suicide

Nothing. Unless you are "defending" yourself from a woman, in which case you are a misogynistic monster who is using the complete lack of threat posed by that poor, innocent woman as an excuse to unleash your desire to harm women, just like all other men secretly want to do! /s

Not at all what was said. What was claimed is that women are more likely to commit first degree (premeditated) murder which is generally considered more serious of a crime then second degree murder (which is what they claim men are more likely to commit).

Women have more options than abortion. They can give the child up for adoption. If they don't want to do that (last I checked) in all 50 states there are "safe haven" laws that allow a woman to legally abandon her newborn child, which starts a process to sever all parental rights and responsibilities. It is also possible for the father to have custody of the child and the mother chooses to "ignore it and pay child support"

Honestly, I’m not sure I do see your point. Are you claiming that women are forcibly sterilized until they can prove they are ready to have kids? Or are you trying to compare “no abortions” to “forced sterilization”? In which case, I would agree that it ain’t a great example. A “role reversal” would be laws requiring men to provide for children they do not want, which currently exist.

How many therapists should I try? Keep changing until I find one that agrees with you? You forget that there are some issues that are incurable. Sometimes trauma never goes away and must be managed (you develop ways to cope with it). There are mental issues out there that cannot be talked away. Sometimes a persons brain is different and therefore they develop these non-trauma related issues that are permanent. It is not a case of being “not interested in experiencing such pain again,” it is a ca…

An idea that is often defined as “the simplest idea is most often correct” right? So you believe the simplest idea is that not only have I have been sabotaging attempts to fix problems by talking about them, and not that talking just isn’t an effective way of dealing with my issues? Let me see if I understand your point of view: method A has attained results from persons B, C,D, E, and F but not from person G. Rather than find a method that attains results from person G, you claim Occam’s razor …

Right. It must be my fault that talking doesn’t work. It can’t be that talking actually doesn’t work for me, it MUST be me unwilling to “repair the damage.” It is in no way possible that different things work for different people, no. It must be my fault.

You don’t think I have? We spent several sessions talking about those events and others. It doesn’t help me. I have other ... “coping mechanisms” that I can and do use. Talking about it isn’t one of them. It does nothing to help me.

It is not the same as saying “all men do this” unless you are trying to imply that “feminist” is just a synonym for “woman”. A better comparison would be “All MRAs do this” in which case if I disagreed I would try to show you a case of a prominent MRA that did not do that. Can you do so for feminism? I do agree that we shouldn’t apply blanket statements to genders, but I disagree when it comes to movements and organizations, especially when that movement/organization has shown that the blanket s…

Don’t fuck a man who doesn’t want children/won’t stay with you if you can’t handle the consequences. Same argument directed at the opposite sex, with one teensy weensy difference: women DON’T need to suffer the consequences. They have options before, during, and after the pregnancy. Men only have options before.

Honestly, I kinda agree with the judgement. I’m sure the man works hard and definitely deserves some relaxation time, but I also don’t think that response being to an eight year old who just lost his dog with a “you’re on your own” isn’t the right thing to do. In that situation the lad needed his father to be there to help him. I really don’t think that moment was the right time to try to teach him about consequences and responsibility. Exactly. It’s the witch trials all over again. There were never witches in Salem, but innocent women were being executed purely because of accusations. Nowadays, innocent men are being labeled as rapists purely because of accusations.

First half of the pic showed two strong (and IMO completely badass) female characters, so definitely not. The issue i personally have is when a male character is recreated as a female character purely for the sake of having a female character, or the story is significantly changed to make that female character seem strong purely for the sake of making that female character seem strong.

It is one thing for someone to lay their hand on your shoulder. It is another for someone to walk up to you and try to grab your dick or ass. That is sexual assault, and it should not be ignored or laughed at because the victim is male!

So if, as you claim, the only reason men don’t get custody is because they don’t ask for it, I have a question for you: Why do they need to ask? Why isn’t equal custody the default? Why is it that of a man doesn’t ask for custody the assumption is that he doesn’t want the child?

Growing up, I’d hear the two swapped around depending on who was telling it; boys would say “boys go to ____ to get more ___ girls go to Jupiter to get more stupider” and girls would say it the other way around. -I used blanks because I would hear a few different things for the first part (mars for cars, for example, or Venus for genius) in the rhyme

Perhaps this is minor, but at my workplace I hear some of the women saying how they will get “one of the guys” to help carry something, or put something back on a shelf that needs a ladder to be reached (heard that one just last week). Perhaps not direct discrimination. But you cannot deny that it affects the boys more than the girls. The girls have the option of wearing an article of clothing they likely already own, is considered culturally acceptable for them to wear, and is extremely unlikely to receive a negative reaction from people who see them wearing it. They also lose the option of wearing an article of clothing they likely already own, is considered culturally acceptable for them to wear, and is extremely unlikely t…
