I open up and then I'm told shitTotally agree. I don’t know why, it doesn’t make sense. I feel like there’s a term for that kind of behavior but I can’t seem to find it anywhere in my brain. Almost like you’re being baited and gaslit. Like “come on, open up, share how you feel; so we can put you down immediately and tell you you’re wrong.” | /r/MenSupportMen | 09/03/23 12:18 PM
I open up and then I'm told shitIt sounds to me like the people in your life are the toxic ones. I’m sorry you’re being shot down every time you share an honest opinion. You’re allowed to not like makeup. That doesn’t make you homophobic. What a wild twist. I wouldn’t share anything more with people calling me a liar for having an opinion that differs from theirs. | /r/MenSupportMen | 08/03/23 11:58 PM
My GF sleeps with her momI’d take that into consideration big time. If she doesn’t have boundaries with her mom, she’s not going to suddenly start setting them. Proposal will be the first big event that is only relevant to the two of you, and it sounds like you’ve got a third party in the relationship already. If I were you, I would try very hard to evaluate your situation as if you were a friend offering yourself advice. Only you know what you’re willing to tolerate and for how long. But you need to be able to see it o… | /r/MenSupportMen | 21/02/23 11:35 AM
My GF sleeps with her momWhat are the other red flags. Bc I feel like that one is pretty major and sometimes the red flags seem minor until you line them up next to each other and that red likely shouldn’t be ignored | /r/MenSupportMen | 21/02/23 01:30 AM
False Rape accusation : He lost his job, he spent time in jail, he was detained at home with an ankle monitor, he was basically being tortured in school by the other students and investigators. Once the allegations were proven false, they didn’t care about the guy but were protecting the liars.I saw Pennsylvania and thought “it’s a big state.” Then saw Seneca Valley and realized its not so big. Not far from me. Just imagined this happening to my son. Just horrific. | /r/MensRights | 15/12/22 10:13 PM
Male Rape Victims - Can anyone else relate?Keep talking about it. Keep showing other men that it’s a thing and should be regarded the same way this crime is considered when committed against women. I hate that this is a victim gender argument rather than a let’s not rape people argument. Like this isn’t a gender issue it’s a society issue. Not that your battle to be heard isn’t an issue, but it all starts with rape. I don’t know anyone that’s been raped, myself included, that doesn’t come out of it feeling the same way (before factoring … | /r/MensRights | 08/07/22 12:53 AM
As someone who has seen both sides of the fence, men really have it rough right now. It’s a very specific type of person that causes trauma to another. And it’s not bound by gender. It happens on both sides by sick people. I’m a woman, born a woman, and agree with the comments below that teaching people how to stay safe and spot warning signs of impending doom would be a much better use of time and energy than simply inducing fear into one gender of the other. | /r/MensRights | 18/02/21 10:28 PM
Going crazyYou have to think a single parent household is definitely better than a toxic home. I had to take a court ordered class about how to communicate with your child (common sense stuff like don't bad mouth the other parent to your kid) and how to communicate with your coparent. They pushed a narrative that two is better than one, and in ways it definitely is but not when that's the atmosphere. Transitioning into parenthood is hard for everyone. Hopefully she can get it together or figure out why tha… | /r/MensRights | 20/02/19 06:35 PM
Going crazyThis is tough. It's very difficult doing things by yourself when there's an abled body in the house unwilling to lift a finger. I don't know what communication tactics you've tried, but sticking to the "I feel ___ when you ____ because _____" tends to work. Like stick to the issue or event and how it makes you feel to find resolve. That way it avoids the finger point, nit pick bullshit. Id try to figure out if there's a valid reason for her laziness and lack of contribution. If there isn't one, … | /r/MensRights | 20/02/19 05:18 PM
